If I don't look your way

Forgive me if I don't see
Or I look away
I don't mean to offend
Or to be arrogant
I just don't know what to say
When I see you
I want to be there
And be your friend
I want to talk
And learn about you
I need to be
Around someone like you
I am just afraid
Of what you will think
When you see
What I really am underneath
If you will like me
When you find out
What I am
I can only hope
That you will like me
Just as I am
So please forgive me
If I don't look your way
