(for M. Balamanzadeh)
August 20, 2006
The merciless knots of life have tightened
their limbs over my aging heart
as I have denied myself of this capture.
And now, I have completed the musical race I began as
and have untied myself for you, defenseless,
Naked to your touch.
Time and time again I've denied myself the capture
in my youthful ways
I have always aimed high, as if I had wings
In avoidance of this joy between the sky and earth.
And now, I've removed those wings so that I may sit
with you, my love
Play with you
Enjoy every moment that's left
In this grip together...
