* Instead of live and let live

Like the proverbial rooster's tail sticking out from you pocket ["The main problem"], I do not know if I should believe your word or the rooster's tail so obviously attesting to your one sided, self-serving and selfish views? The never ending cycle of bullshit does not ever tire when it comes to the bleeding heart of Jews crying -- and wailing -- over spilled milk of fourteen centuries ago!

Fact is Jerusalem has been the city most prostituted throughout history, because it has been fought over and taken over by Romans, Jews, Moslems and Christians more often that can be reasonably remembered without a calculator. Now the last incarnation of a "customer" knocking at the door of this harlot is the government of Israel and those who support it.

This is the same Israeli government which invaded three Arab countries in 1967 and through propaganda told the world it was defending itself against aggressors, massacred its prisoners of war against the Geneva convention -- and least expectations of humanity -- and even sank an American ship -- USS Liberty -- to cover up the atrocious crimes of the Zionists (I refer you to "Body of Secrets" by James Bamford, published by Double Day). Only now the truth is showing its ugly but clear face over 30 years later.

Say what you really feel Mr. Babak! How would you like to kill all Palestinian men, women and children and destroy Al-Aghsa mosque, just so you can taste the sweet yet stinking flavor of historic and idiotic revenge, instead of learning to live and let live! Just remember, this sort of thinking never dies. You destroy this and build that? Someone will destroy that and build this!

* People at fault, not religions

After reading "No sense of superiority" from I. I. Rahmim and KGs "Rather be a Muslim than a Jew or...", I couldn't agree with any of them. Being raised in a non-religious Muslim family and outside Iran I have met a lot of different people with many different beliefs and background.

I have come to this belief that all the religions are bad or good depending how they are practiced. For example in Islam it says that a woman should always obey her husband in what he says. And Islam also says that the husband has the right to punish his child and wife if they don't obey him. Well this sounds pretty rough.

But Islam says also that the one will go to heaven if he treats his wife well. So as you can see, when a Muslim beats up his wife and says that it is his right, then what really he does is to use Islam to justify his deeds.

There are many bad things happening in Iran. For example, the very bad situation that divorced or widowed women face in Iran, when even their families would not help them! Some of these you could say are due to the interpretation of Islam, but many of them are due to very bad, ignorant, non-democratic and discriminating traditions we have.

Europe went through the same problems (discrimination etc.) during the previous centuries. So this problem is not just Islam, it is in all religions. So what I want to say is that the when it comes down to the bone it is how we are -- as humans -- that matters. There are good humans who are Muslims, Christians and Jews and then there are people not so good from the same religions!

Like John Lennon used to say: All you need is love.

* Can't blame Ashraf anymore

So, the poor man (Khatami) already has a lot to deal with ["Stop nit-picking"] so we should lay off him. This poor man has been involved with this regime since day one and has been a minister throughout all those years of executions, war and repression. This poor man is now residing over a government that is spending millions on terrorist organisations in Lebanon and Palestine whilst half of its own people are living in poverty.

This poor man has been a part of this regime whilst most of our young generation have been turned into drug addicts (no Ashraf to blame anymore, sorry) and prostitutes. This poor man has stood aside whilst writers and students are thrown into jails and tortured. This poor man supports the sysyem of Velayat Faghih which in its very essence is anti-democratic. This poor man presides over a system that believes in stonings and public flogging and hanging.

This poor man is nothing but the smiling face of the Islamic Republic, who has been brought in to pacify people like yourself who would otherwise by now have had enough of the growling Khamenei and his team.

Anyway, didn't we all used to say in the late 70s when the Shah was talking about giving more political freedom that "AZADI DAADANI NIST, GEREFTANIST ?" We pick on Mr Khatami and his stablemates because some of us STILL believe in this saying.

* Correction

Note about Leila Pahlavi's funeral:

Hadi Khorsandi

* Mocking a sad occasion

I was amased to read Mr. Khorsandi's account of Princess Leila's Funeral as I was one of many who attended the funeral on that sad occasion! To make mockery of the loss of someone's child is only an indication of one's moral upbringing.

I only wish you do not suffer the same loss. Having said that, I can't feel you have an ounce of humanity in your blood.

* Misleading

The subtitle of the feature piece by Ms. Zahedi was misleading ["Hamed"]. All he had to say about the Iranian diaspora was stated in the subtitle of the article, i.e., "Iranian diaspora is generally lukewarm when it comes to religion." Much of the piece was about who this Egyptian Hamed was and why Mr. Zahedi did not think that each ethnic group should have their own country.

Titles and subtitles should reflect the piece as they generate expectations for the reader. I was hoping to learn something about the religious aspects of Iranian diaspora but instead found out why the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic towards Chechnya is a sound one!

* People's choice

Hamed is blind to democracy, such a concept is alien to him. The man exists for his religion. So, people only need to be followers, and have blind faith. Any difference of opinion is considered dissent and must be punished.

Well, human beings lived under such a system for couple of thousands of years. For the past three hunderd years, the concept of people's choice and democracy has been introduced. So, it is time to say good-bye to backwardness, hatred, short-sightedness and dark forces of reaction.

Let Hamed do what he wants to do, but, people need to make their choices freely, whatever it maybe.

* Most dreadful

I am writing this letter to beg all of you to please keep alive the memory of the people who were executed in the summer of 1367 (1988) in Iranian prisons. Please write about them if you happen to know any of them.

Perhaps, this incident is one of the darkest and most dreadful thing that has happened to our people in recent decades. Thousands of prisoners (2,800 to 3,800 according to Ayatollah Montazeri himself) were executed without any new trial. Some were even supposed to be freed that year.

We need to not let this savage act be forgotten. We need to demand justice for these people. The only way to prevent this incident from ever happening again, is for the beasts who are responsible for this ghoulish act to be brought to justice.

Please help in any way, shape and form you can.

Thank you.

* Do you pay iranian.com?

Dear Mr. Baniameri, ["Old man's money"]

After reading your article about your father-in -aw, all I can say is:

1. Take all the money that he gave to and give it to charity before you lose it all because according to your self you are not able to manage your money.

2. I do notunderstand at all waht are you trying her to say? Are you telling people to love and respect their family because of money? And how sad for you that you need to kiss someone's buttto make something of your life.

3. Iranian.com has so many great writer, and they choose to publish your work? Are you paying them to do so?

* Irrelevant

Thank you for your response to my letter ["Singer vs. showgirl"]. You asked me: I have one last question from you. Why are you living abroad while you can go back to where Googoosh is now and make connections with them?

I am not sure what you are referring to? As far as I know Googoosh lives in Toronto and I would like to visit that city one day! If you are referring to Googoosh's so-called connections with the regime in Iran (because she managed to leave last year ), can you kindly explain how your favourite singer Delkash mananged to leave Iran two years ago and give a series of concerts and then return to Iran? A case of double standards perhaps?

Whether Googoosh has any conncetions with the IR or not is irrelevant - I discuss and comment on her worth as a unique entertainer.

* Jamshid Jafari

I am searching for a person by the name of Jamshid Jafari. He also goes by Mohammad Bagher or JJ. He is a dentist (the last I heard of him).

I'd really appreciate it if you let me know whether or not you can find him!

Thank You
