 An Iranian cleric stands beside a portrait of the Islamic republic's founding father Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, January 12, 2003, during a protest in the city of Qom over an 'insulting' caricature carried by a reformist newspaper. The caricature, which depicted a robed, bearded figure sitting under a giant thumb, was considered by some clerics to bear a clear resmblence to Khomeini, who died in 1989.
