This weekend, I will be finishing my one year
assignment with United Nations in Afghanistan. What a
journey! I have attached a few pix to this email.
Soon, I'll return to U.S. for a couple of weeks and
then return to Afghanistan in Mid-June for another 6
months assignment. I have been around the globe. But,
this country, the people and their struggle to
re-discover themselves amid much uncertainty touch the
observer's soul in a way that's difficult to fully
describe. This picture shows Afghan police officers. The government
says it needs 8,000 women police officers in the next five years.
