Tears, rust, and dust

The Iranian
Behold the tale of a love
that began as a word and
turned into dust.
Listen to the story of a heart
that still weeps
through layers of rust.
Hear the song of a smile
that stretches to the end
of the world
because it must.
Then, only then, tell me
you can still hide
beneath the folds of
who you think you are
and cry.
