as an Iranian who has been married to an beautiful American, I will have to give you a heads up, your mother in law, even though she lives in us like many other Iranian women that I know are very competitive, and anti American, just because they want to go and live in old Iran even though they all say shah was a dictator, butcher and so on..
ask here where did they get their money to come here and buy a house, and send their child to school, I do not know all the situation , however for sake of your marriage ,you and Alex have to be respectful, and try not to engage in stupid politics with your mother in-law, you won’t win.
