I just can imagine what sort of reaction there would be if they had decided to ban Yarmulke or the long coats/hair orthodox Jews wear. Well any harsh reaction would have been justified and in my opinion racist as this one is. I believe there ought to be a law against forcing such covers (Burka or otherwise) but if it is done voluntarily and as ones conviction, then its ban is just as wrong as forcing one to wear it.

Hejab is not a personal choice for many

Hejab is a state imposed mandate, e.g., in Muslim countries, and many women are subjugated in wearing this hejab.  If hejab is a personal choice, then women in Muslim countries should be able to kick the habit.  Similarly, while I support personal choice in wearing or not wearing hejab, it is the Islamists who have created a situation where hejab is being prohibited because of security reasons.

Hejab is a Jewish thing anyways.  In a National Geographic special, I saw that the head-cover for women was "invented" in small Jewish communities of the ancient world as a direct responce to the 7th (thou shall not commit adultery) and the 10th (thou shall not covet ....; .... ; covet your neighbor's wife) commandments. 

Like many other rituals, hejab was imitated after Prophet Mohammad, whose wife and daughter did not wear hejab.  Meanwhile, all these Islamists refer to the Noor Sureh as justification for hijab, which is hogwash.

How come when Belgium, France, Germany, England all the other racist imperialists were colonizing muslim lands in Asia, Africa, etc. along with the rest of the world, they weren't applying the same standards on themselves as they are on the immigrants. Immigrants from around the world are migrating to the same countries that colonized them for centuries. We see the same in the US against the Mexican immigrants who were impoverished through America's economic colonization of Mexico and the entire Latin America for more than half a century.
