Aryana-Vaeja AKA Nima Hazini/ Wahid Azal on Bahais and Human Rights in Iran.
//wahidazal.blogspot.com/
"the Baha'is have also gone out of their way to fabricate or exagerrate human rights violations in Iran with Western human rights groups in order to maintain some bloated sense of relevence..."
"it appears that the rulers of the Islamic Republic of Iran have actually gone out of their way to accomodate the Baha'is inside Iran. Baha'is have been left relatively unmolested ...."
Also
"To this end, in my capacity as the Grand Shaykh of the Fatimiya Sufi Order, I recently issued a fatwa against the legitimacy of the regime in Iran as well as against the legitimacy of the imposition of the veil (hijab) against women. The text of my fatwa can be found, here. The time for niceties and negotiations with incorrigible tyrants and fascists such as those infesting Iran is over. It is time to take the fight to them head on upon all fronts (i.e. ideological, political, economic, military and otherwise), and to that end I also hereby proclaim here an all out Holy War (jihad)"

by Aryana-Vaeja on Fri Sep 03, 2010 06:20 PM PDTYes, definitely shop around before you buy. And take nothing adherents say on face value.
For the person who says Bahaism is ahead of its time: exactly how is burning arsonists and branding thieves, making men the beneficiaries under inheritance laws and not women, splitting the world between believers and covenant breakers, shunning and disenfranchising non-believing family members and wishing one-party Theocratic states, ahead of its time? We already have a version of this in Iran today. What 'time' is Bahaism exactly ahead of, then? Khar hamaan kharast faqat paalaanash avaz shode!
Rain Wilson and Oprah are both pop-culture morons! Why would anyone serious about such things even give these two the time of the day?!

by Immortal Guard on Fri Sep 03, 2010 06:00 PM PDTLearn about the Ismailis as well:
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aga_Khan
//www.akdn.org/
They also preach nice things which appeal to the educated intelligentsia and progressive-thinking people. They also hold nice speeches and contribute to development projects. Actually all the Ismailis that I came across were prosperous people! I heard that to demonstrate their loyalty they would even eat Agha Khan's saliva!
Nice spiritual bazaar out there! Shop around but before buying study it carefully if you have the time!
Its about PERSONAL experience & Life journey..NOT blind belief
by faryarm on Fri Sep 03, 2010 03:47 PM PDTTo each his own belief and understanding of the truth.
When i first saw this over a year ago, i was impressed by the emphasis on Rainn's account and personal experience.In this show he is promoting a site called //www.soulpancake.com/ which is dedicated to free discussion of spiritual subjects.
It is unfortunate when some, in their comments in comparison with other celebrities , without understanding the substance of the discussion , can outrightly dismiss what every human being needs to do in his /her lifetime; that is , to find inner peace and contentment.
Rain Wilson, seems to have grown up with "religion", then left it, then through what he calls his personal journey has found his path.
His Bahai faith, just happens to be one path that he considers to have a unifying influence; with himself, with his family, with all the diversity in his country and the world.
So its all about free PERSONAL search and Journey , as opposed to inheriting an ideology from your parents, of forcing your kids to believe what you do.
This principle of personal search with the Bahais, should be enough to dispel the doubts and cynicism about this Iranian born religion, as opposed to the supermarket feelgood ideologies promoted by celebrities.
In order to make an intelligent judgment, my fellow iranians have to consider and closely examine why and how the Iranian Bahais have held so firmly to their principles and beliefs in the face of not just the last 30 years of targeted persecution . but for well over 150 years.
and why has the Shia establishment/the current IR ruling elite have invested so much to destroy an historically loyal and peaceful minority, that happens to respect and defend the validity of Quran as God's guidance for its specific time.
If this was some "make believe" religion, would so many of the most educated in our country , the most accomplished from the youngest to the elderly give up their life for just "make belief" ?
Further, If God seems to some as "just an invisible friend for grownups", it is because some people have not either made that connection with God or have not been put in a position to need God.
Those who have shared prison time with Bahais, attest to what seems to be a inexplicable abounding spirit , a self confidence and inner strength that not only frustrates their jailers and interrogators, but a source of comfort for other fellow prisoners, who like Roxana Saberi who spent time with the two Bahai Women, who have just been given 20 year sentences, because they refuse to recant, what some here call "some make believe religion "
That connection needs faith; and faith comes about with humility and a deep desire to find balance, inner peace and contentment, its hard work; it is not a membership in a congregation where one is lectured to; it is not paying $$$ to attend a seminar by a GURU.
Perhaps that is what is meant by "more humanity" and less"religion"
Its about PERSONAL experience & Life journey..NOT blind belief

Faryarm

by Iraniandudee3 on Fri Sep 03, 2010 10:50 AM PDTIt is too liberal, atleast for its time. It's almost like it's ahead of its time. I don't think that The world is gonna come together anytime soon.

by afshin on Fri Sep 03, 2010 09:41 AM PDTCry me a friggin' river... What we need in the world is less religion and more humanity. Not some make believe religion like all the make believe religions of the world. Haven't you all realized that God is just an invisible friend for grownups?
