Reuters – Iran has arrested a "network of spies" linked to Israel's Mossad intelligence service which it blames for the assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist in 2010, Iran's state television reported on Monday. Tensions are running high between Iran and Israel, which has not ruled out military strikes on the Islamic Republic if diplomatic efforts fail to resolve a row over Tehran's nuclear program. Iran has vowed to retaliate for any strikes with missile strikes on Israel and U.S. targets in the Gulf. "The Intelligence Ministry ... has identified and arrested members of a spy and terrorist network linked to the Zionist regime," state television quoted a statement issued by the ministry as saying. Israel is responsible, most likely, but....
by farrad02 on Mon Jan 10, 2011 07:35 PM PSTThere is little doubt that the assassinations of the nuclear engineers was the work of Israeli Mosad (read the recent Newsweek cover article, titled Targeting Iran). And Israelis are not trying very hard to hide their involvement. In fact, they want the world and the Iranians to know that they are countering Iran's efforts! This way, if their efforts prove unsuccessful and Iran obtains the A-bomb(s), and when Israel attacks Iran, they will be able to argue that they tried other methods and it didn't work!
But, it is highly doubtful that this guy in the confession video was one of those Israeli agents.
We have seen enough films and theatre plays to know an actor when we see one! Nice try though.
Now, the question is, who are they going to hang when the time comes; this same guy?!
Have You Noticed?!
by HHH on Mon Jan 10, 2011 07:25 PM PSTHave you noticed how calmly and in detail, and pro-IRI Abdolmalek Rigi, the leader of Jondollah, Sakineh Mohammadi and this supposed "Israeli spy" confessions were?
Have you ever seen anyone who knows he'll be executed to come and give a detailed, pro-IRI, confession for his enemy, the IRI?!
In real life this guy would deny everything, Abdolmalek Rigi would curse IRI and yell at regime, but what do they do? They calmly describe, in detail, a nice, pro-IRI scenario with a face that shows their life will be spared in exchange for confession.
By the way, has anybody seen the dead body of Abdolmalek Rigi?!
I think IRI's contribution to Iran's movie industry are these short propaganda movies to tell Iranians how powerful they are and how fast they arrested the terrorists!
I agree as well
by mahmoudg on Mon Jan 10, 2011 06:50 PM PSTIsrael does not need to prove anything. Iran on the other hand has everything to loose. they need to prove they have arrested some one and connect it him MOSSAD or the CIA. This is desperation tactic. The regime is on its deathbed and will try anything once to find a solution to a deadend problem.
But
by statira on Mon Jan 10, 2011 05:25 PM PSTAlimohamadi was a green movement sympatizer, and Islamic regime killed him. Wasnt the killer a Lebanese Hezbollahee who was paid by the Slumic regime?
JJ has got this one correct
by Bavafa on Mon Jan 10, 2011 05:22 PM PSTIf he really was a Mossad agent then I wonder where is all the cuts and bruises on his face and body? Surely one can not expect IRI to treat a Mossad agent accused of terrorism in Iran in such fashion.
Mehrdad
Terrible actor
by Jahanshah Javid on Mon Jan 10, 2011 05:02 PM PST1- Israeli agents responsible for assassinations of Iranian scientists? I believe it.
2- Iran arrested some of them? Possibly.
3- The guy in this "news" clip is one of them? Highly doubtful. To me he looks like he's acting.
Fabricating news is not new in Iran. But in the past year it seems the security agencies have been getting more ambitious. Trying a little too hard :)
