Four Wives, One Man

Documentary by Nahid Persson Sarvestani

Under certain interpretations of the Koran, Muslim men are allowed to have more than one wife, and filmmaker Nahid Persson profiles an Iranian husband who already has four brides and is looking for more in this documentary. Heda is a farmer who is married to Farang, Goli, Shahpar and Ziba; between his four spouses, Heda is already father to twenty children, but he feels his current wives are not always as obedient as he'd like, and he's interested in finding a younger and more subservient partner to give him more offspring. -- Mark Deming, Rovi

Listen Carefully

cause i am not going to repeat this  : )

I brought facts based on Quran. Now you can fed us craps that was fed to you by mullas. Let them celebrate their stupid crazy sharia laws most of which has nothing to do with Islam.

I did not bring this up to defend polygamy but only to say what is actually written in Quran in regards to what was suggested by the documentary . Also the fact that the guy wants to have more wives to have more kids ........

Of course he can do it and call it anything he wishes.

What he and men like him are doing have the mullas support but has no Quranic back up ......

That is all I am  saying here .

Give all of us a break

Give all of us a break Soosan Khnoom.  Islam is the most backward religeon of all the backward religeons.  Please sell your widows/orphans garbage in another dokkoon.  And as for justice, we know that the younger wife receives all the nightly justice, Islamic style, whether she wants it or not.  Islam looks at a woman not as an equal human being but as a slave with no right.

They do not even bother to read Quran and come up with the right text for even a documentary .......

Where in the Quran it is said marry four if you can afford it?

it is marry four (  due to war / widows/ orphans  ) and that is  if you can DO JUSTICE between them if not then DO NOT DO IT...   Sticking to one keeps you in the right path  ...... basically if you want to stay in the right path marry only one .......

"And if you fear that you cannot act equitably towards orphans, you may marry two or three or four women whom you choose. But if you apprehend that you might not be able to do justice to them, then marry only one wife, ...... this is more proper that you may not deviate from the right course" (4:3).

Monogamy is the general rule in Islam ..... Polygamy is rare exception which belongs to the past and time in the history when polygamy was a social norm in almost every society religious or non religious one.....

but who reads Quran these days yet alone act upon it based on the today's life, society, and its norms ......

and yes they do it in many Islamic countries but so what all those men are deviated from the right path by doing so ....... it was never meant for  reproduction and kids multiplication in astronomical order but it was meant for taking care of the orphans ........

"Big Love" Iranian style?

The old lady (the guys' mother) says it all at the begining 1:20, I can't say it in here:  "It's all about ....!"

Colorfully depressing from begining to end.

What a (excuse my parlance) monumental prick!
