NIAC: At NIAC’s First Annual Leadership Conference, the esteemed Alan Eyre gave an enlightening talk on U.S. government efforts to reach out to the Iranian people, including the role of the Iranian-American community in shaping the future of Iran’s political decisions. He emphasized the value that Iranian Americans have in effecting policy change and giving a voice to friends and relatives living in Iran who are unable to communicate their concerns >>>

Persoanlly me further thinks all these songs were influnced by the one and only Janis.

Azita Shafazand
"I wanna put on an ironed shirt"
I wanna be Shafazand at her best
I wanna look my best,
when I meet the President
I’ll take a free trip as his guest
“I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad”
I wanna put on an ironed shirt
I wanna look my best
I wanna talk like the rest
I’ll open a beauty salon
In every town
In every city in Iran
I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad
I’m ganna drive the latest Mercedes Benz,
with a license plate that says:
AZITA#1
I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad
I wanna be on the cover of Fars News Agency
Sipping tea with Mahmoud and Mashaei
I wanna say Islam discovered gravity
Mahmoud had a halo on top of his head
Get brownie points in between
I wanna eat kebab half a meter long
Keep eating till I blow my thong
I wanna be on Islamic TV
Talk about my school of beauty
I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad
“Oh, every time I close my eyes”
I wanna find a way,
to remove unwanted hair without pain
That’s what I’m researching in my lab
Move over waxing,
tweezing and band
Here comes Azita Shafazand
I’ll do it in a humane way
It's everyone’s human right,
to live a hairless life
Smooth as baby's butt
I’ll do it without a cut
I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad
Give me your hairy Faati komandos
Give me your wooly mullahs
Your bearded man
Give me your whiskered zan
I’ll do what I can
Forget Brazilian Wax,
Vajebi, lazer, razer blade
Here comes Azita the Great
I'll epilate your pileous hair
I’ll epilate them for Cyrus the Great
I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad
I’ll figure it out in my lab
Forget nasty Nair
I’ll thread your unwanted hair
I’ll discuss it on the air
I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad
Give me my best ironed shirt
I wanna look the best,
when I meet the President.

I posted this in its entirety, not only becuase its a good poem, but it also provides you with the sort of character behind these Azitaesque attendees
tarreh-gol, i remember
by hamsade ghadimi on Tue Oct 18, 2011 08:13 AM PDTtarreh-gol, i remember reading the program for 'hamayesh bozorg.' you're right that there is more to the hamayesh than "peace activism." there is also solicitation of investment opportunites from the expats to circumvent the sanctions. and espionage as you mentioned. the lady you're talking about (i don't know her name) was a hair stylist (perhaps salon owner) from virginia. i remember that she equated supporting the regime in the same line as being proud of one's iranian heritage!
HG, 'hamayesh bozorg' acts more than just a recruiter but also
by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Tue Oct 18, 2011 08:02 AM PDThas another function, as in gathering intelligence on the opposition and placing their agents in the community. There were many articles about that after the 'hamayesh,' not sure how far they went with it though.
What was the name of the women that went to Tehran and had a TV interview, MPD wrote a lovely piece for her.
hafez jan, maybe what fred
by hamsade ghadimi on Tue Oct 18, 2011 07:08 AM PDThafez jan, maybe what fred pointed out was that in niac gatherings you can't swing a dead cat by its tail without hitting islamic republic's supporters. the so-called peace activists such as leyla zand, ardeshir ommani, niloufar khanoom (i'lll leave out her real last name since she wants to be anonymous), casmii, niac and many others are just a ruse to keep the iranian regime intact and avert all possible threats toward them. there are also well-meaning peace activists who are duped by these regime apologists. in the 'hamayesh bozorg' where iranian expats are invited, they have "peace" workshops to recruit help of these peace activists in helping the regime. no lie.
have a good day. :)
Little Fereydoon got them this time!
by MM on Mon Oct 17, 2011 07:07 PM PDTThis picture referenced by little Fereydoon first surfaced in Ghasedin-e azadi and several people commented that it was photoshoped! The same reference in Ghasedin-e azadi says that the meeting with Mashaie was in NY (English) and Tehran (Farsi). Look at the English vs Farsi picture subtitles at //www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150313694197271&set=a.10150255538267271.323323.108514667270&type=1 . Which one is true?
The reference above, as well as mini-Fereydoon, also portray LZ as a NIAC officer. Where is the evidence for that? And finally, as HfB noted, what is the relationship of LZ to this blog which is about the Iranian-Americans' participation in politics and their civic duties. And, from what I read, it was a very successful event with speakers that others only dream of inviting to their gatherings.
OK, if you did not get it, look at HfB's list again. Are they agents of IRI too?
Fred: Just follow the trace of lucrative oil deal commissions,
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Mon Oct 17, 2011 06:23 PM PDTAnd you get the tight blue jeans wearing, "all american" NIAC lobbyist girl, acting as the middle woman between the state department (read oil cartels) and the psychopathic murderer ahmadinezhad's right hand man, this time in full Hijab. That is of course if ali khaamenei and his second hand car dealers stop causing trouble!
In the meantime, far away from the pleasent settings of washington kebeb restaurants, murder, rape and theft of defenceless Iranians goes on as ususal in the islamist paradise of Iran
Great find Fred, Thank you very much!

List of Attendees
by Hafez for Beginners on Mon Oct 17, 2011 05:54 PM PDTList of Attendees at the same conference:
Congressman Jim Moran - (D-VA): Fascinating man
Darius Shahinfar - Candidate for Congress: NY
"Max Amini" - Comedian and colleague of Maz Jobrani and "Tehran"
Ramin Asgard - Director of Voice of Ameria (VOA) Persian
Alan Eyre - State Department (hysterical, intelligent - recites poetry! - see video)
Jim Limbert - Ex-Hostage from the 1979-1980 - He speaks wonderfully in the VOA segment on this conference if you could get a hold of it. "Mashalla" - were his first words, that's how much the crowd had impressed him! (I think the VOA video is on NIAC's site, too.)
All of the above were at this event that included the mysterious "lady" that FRED has posted below. Thanks for the info. - but dare I say, "so what?" If it didn't bother the above list of attendees, most of us having no idea who the heck she might be, why should it bother those of us who support NIAC as well as other groups such as PAAIA? (I agree with about 70% of both groups' activities - which is a healthy score. Remember, "worship" or "hate" made us lose Iran in the first place.) Alan Eyre from the State Department and other guests commended both NIAC and PAAIA.
Both groups do highly admirable things - and after 30 years, are introducing Iranian-Americans to US Legislators. Congressman Moran reminded everybody that we are rated #1 from among 66 minority communities in the US - and yet, are so unknown to Legislators.
Exposure is always positive, surely. I met doctors, lawyers, and professors from the Iranian-American community - it was terribly impressive. In a Democracy, one "lady" shouldn't put off attendees at a National Conference - that would be terribly silly.
That's my humble opinion. And saying "Don't bomb Iran" does not mean you are an IRI agent. People also said "Don't bomb Iraq" marching by their Millions in London, Madrid, Washington, Rome - and were certainly not Saddam's agents, either. See, how silly it sounds?
Pluralism and Peace. Thank you.
Two pictures
by Fred on Mon Oct 17, 2011 02:24 PM PDTMashregh News had a question about one of the participants in this NIAC lobby gathering.
The question is accompanied with two pictures of Leyla Zand, one with Alan Eyre at this NIAC lobby gathering, and the other one in Tehran with Ahmadinejad’s right-hand man Mashai.
What gives?
