On 8 March 2012, International Women’s Day, the Nude Photo Revolutionary calendar is being published in homage to Egyptian atheist, student and blogger Aliaa Magda Elmahdy who posted a nude photo of herself, which she described as ‘screams against a society of violence, racism, sexism, sexual harassment and hypocrisy’. At a time when free expression and women’s rights and bodies are under attack by Islamism and the religious-right, nudity is an important form of resistance and defiance. The women in the calendar stand firm in solidarity with Aliaa Magda Elmahdy and the countless women across the world who are denied basic rights, freedoms and dignity. >>>

This may have sounded like a great idea at the time, but it really isn't.
Reminds me of the time that I was very young and went to a public Hamoom Zanooneh with some old relative and came home totally frightened!

by Anahid Hojjati on Tue Mar 06, 2012 11:40 AM PSTno, we shouldn't. By the way, text above video does not explain it clearly but all participants are Iranian or at least the ones that I saw.
Ducky if you weren't so cute
by Soosan Khanoom on Tue Mar 06, 2012 11:16 AM PSTI would have shot you myself !
Natural breast is more beautiful ... some have it up there .. some have it hanging ... The benefit of the hanging ones is that a camera can not catch both the face and the breast. As we see in some of these nude presentation the face, then, seems to be more important to shoot.
: )

Freedom of Choice
by Anahid Hojjati on Tue Mar 06, 2012 11:06 AM PSTEven though I don't like too much emphais on nudity as a form of "mobareze" with IRI but there are benefits to this act. The more Iranian women take nude pictures, the more it will be acceptable that Iranian women should be the ones choosing how they want to dress. Also chador and Rosari will look more backwards if there are more naked women. Meanwhile, there will be some opportunist women who will use nudity to become famous. why write a beautiful poem or story when with a simple nud epicture, you can become more famous? Besides, i hope artists don't start getting the idea that if they have an art show coming up, they should get nude to generate publicity for themselves. That is my concern. I am not sure every person becoming nude has the good of movement at heart.
Idiotic!
by payam s on Tue Mar 06, 2012 10:58 AM PSTReducing women's liberation to the free exposition of breasts and nudity? Wow, how deep and meaningful (that is for white western liberal feminists). This is ridiculous. Typical of upper-class europeanized intellectual-wanna-be tehrani women striving for "modernity" and the values of european "enlightenment". How pathetic.
Are these before the surgery photos?
by Do Not Shoot Me on Tue Mar 06, 2012 10:41 AM PSTThey are in serious need of a lifting job.
Please excuse me I need to puke now!
excellent
by onlyinamrica on Tue Mar 06, 2012 08:29 AM PSTIt is time to take everything off, who needs cloths. this for sure would expedite the removal of IRI once and for all.

More power to them ....
by Bavafa on Tue Mar 06, 2012 08:14 AM PSTFor demanding their rights and for equality.
Ironically, here in the US, more and more, we see a drive by social conservative to curtail the rights of women to choose.
