Hamid Dabashi's "The World of Persian Literary Humanism"

Harvard University Press (2012)

Book Description: What does it mean to be human? Humanism has mostly considered this question from a Western perspective. Through a detailed examination of a vast literary tradition, Hamid Dabashi asks that question anew, from a non-European point of view. The answers are fresh, provocative, and deeply transformative. This groundbreaking study of Persian humanism presents the unfolding of a tradition as the creative and subversive subconscious of Islamic civilization >>>

Isn't calling a scholar "sub-human" considered a personal attack

by Zendanian on

In general I have never flagged a comment (with the exception of a Nazi using a Swastika avatar, on this site), but the disgraceful, wretched personal attack below really deserves to be flagged, and then some.

What Does it mean to be human?

by masoudA on

I know what it takes to be sub-human.    Just like you mr. Dabashi a sub-human is one who is a communist yet works with the mullahs and against the best interests of his home country establishes a theocracy... then after the mullahs reject him, he adopts a new home country and moves to the capitalist haven, becomes a servant to George Soros, and starts working against the best interests of his new home!!!   Meanwhile he enjoys being considered a university professor - teaching BS and poisoning minds...
