RE: EXPOSED TRAITORS
by IrooniIrooniam (not verified) on Wed Oct 17, 2007 06:22 AM PDTYou literally need help! Go and seek some psycho-therapy or some type of treatment to calm you down. Maybe your doctor will tell you that your behavior is a clear case of hatred brewed through insecurity.
First off, this site is not pro the current regime in Iran. I have seen many pro and anti regime articles (along with many users' commentaries of course). Second, I think with Vlad involved, chances of a US attack go down a little, and chances of change from within increase a bit. Third, I certainly don't want another nation telling another nation how to live, how to govern, etc. And I think most of fellow Americans agree that this imperialist govt has to change. Not just because of Iran, but also becaus everyone around the world now despises the US. I love it when these neocons in Washington think they're the special people and start "spreading democracy." Iraq is a perfect example. Remember that the majority rules in a democracy. I'd say you wouldn't be considered as part of the 'majority' (in terms of religion, etc) in Iran. So to have a true democracy work, the minorities must accept that, and the majorities must negotiate or give a little. It is all about a trade off ... unfortunately, neither the current wacko govt in Iran, nor some people like you appear capable of negotiating or doing a give & take. May you find peace ... within yourself first!

by Tonya (not verified) on Tue Oct 16, 2007 11:54 AM PDTWhat a great blog. I commend you on your calm assessment of a situation that is potentially disasterous for so many... Iranians and Americans equally. We discuss this issue all the time and this is one thing we (my husband and I) are in complete agreement with. These two regimes, the US and Iran, are not in accord. One can only hope that the next administration (here at least) will not only be receptive to dialgue but will INITIATE it. Do we dare hope??? And what hope is there for Iran to respond should the US reach out? I simply can't accept that there aren't any alternatives. So... what can we (the PEOPLE) do to help? I would hope at the very least that some of us could try to come together in this venue. If Persians aren't in agreement... and American's aren't in agreement... what hope is there??? I'm so afraid.

If US bombs, Iran will not be one nation!
by IrooniIrooniam (not verified) on Tue Oct 16, 2007 10:45 AM PDTCertainly the messages posted here, on a page that has pictures of a few Iranians spreading the message of peace, indicate that if the US bombs Iran, Iran will be just another victim of a civil war. We are seeing it in Iraq, we are now seeing it possibly brewing in Turkey, and we have certainly seen it in Afghanistan.
Besides all of the bad memories that all of us have, what is it that we all have in common (or logically you'd think we have in common)? That's wanting CHANGE and PEACE. Change can be brought forth in many ways, but the way which then would lead to peace is change internally in Iran. And that can be accomplished only if we, outside of Iran, are united. UNITY has been missing for years. I think nationality should be valued more than the stupid little things that makes us different from one another. I don't care if someone is muslim, the fact that he is Iranian is more important. I don't care if someone is jewish, the fact that he is Iranian is more important. I don't care if someone is bahai, the fact that he is Iranian is more important. The same can be said about political beliefs. If we become UNITED outside of Iran, we can show our fellow Iranians inside that there is hope; that when (not if) they do take action, they will be supported by all Iranians.
Unfortunately, the messages posted here don't represent one ounce of unity in us, not one. I will keep trying, and I know there are many other fellow Iranians that will do the same.
One last thing ... not sure why so much has been made out of the women in the pictures wearing headscarfs?! When you've got freedom, you can either wear it or not, it shouldn't really matter, right? You've got orthodox female jews in Brooklyn wearing hats and other things to cover their hair, and that's their right, but more important - that's what they want to do. You've got beautiful sexy blondies in Santa Monica barely wearing anything, and that's their right too. So, why make so many negative comments about the Iranian women in the pictures?? Well, I guess that's also the right of the people that make those comments!
I'm just seeking peace ... just seeking peace.

SHAME ON THE WAR PIGS
by Down with Iranicons and Warpigs (not verified) on Mon Oct 15, 2007 06:28 PM PDTThere are 3 groups of Iranians supporting an attack on Iran:
1) Rajavists (they were disappointed that their patron, Saddam, was not successful in defeating Iran in 1988)
2) Members of SAVAK and croneys of the Pahlavi family
3) Iranians who worship the Israeli and American governments, because without those governments there is a ZERO percent chance of them coming to power
Iranian patriots MUST fight the Iranian warpigs who are barking loud for an attack.
We desperately need peace initiatives
by Javid (not verified) on Mon Oct 15, 2007 05:44 PM PDTThe peace movement is not about supporting the IRI’s government, nor is it incompatible with the goals of opposition groups. It is about developing a vocabulary that allows the opposing sides to discuss their differences without resorting to violence. ALL Iranians would benefit from, and desperately need, such peace initiatives. For when violence is the only language of conducting states’ policy, inevitably a large number of innocent people would be harmed. (Remember the violent suppression of Iranian activists in IRI, or the massacres of Iraqi and Afghan public in the hands of Bush’s occupation forces). The people who oppose peace movements either have a personal interest and profit from such violence, or they are so bankrupt and rejected by their societies that have no hope of prevailing in a sane and peaceful dialogue.
Amazingly in this case, the anti-peace movement of the US-based opposition groups shares the same interests as the IRI’s reactionary mullahs who want to escalate the conflict and have a direct confrontation with the US. Both of these groups know that they can only survive in an atmosphere of violence. For this reason we should all support and encourage every effort by Iranian or international groups to promote and spread the message of peace.

SHAME ON YOU JAHANSHAH JAVEED
by YOUR FRIEND (not verified) on Mon Oct 15, 2007 04:07 PM PDTBELIEVE THERE ARE THREE GROUPS OF PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT ANTI-WAR MOVEMENT
FIRST GROUP: PRO-REGIME LACKEYS WHO ARE ON THE GOVERNMENT PAYROLL...IF YOU DENY THIS THEN YOU ARE EITHER VERY IGNORANT TO THE REGIME PROPAGANDA MACHINE OR YOU ARE INTENTIONALLY DENYING IT BECAUSE YOU ARE PART OF IT.
SECOND GROUP: FORMER LEFTIES ( HEZBE-TOODEHS), WHO ARE SO ANTI-BUSH, ANTI-WEST, ANTI-CAPITALISM, ANTI-MONARCHY...THAT AN ENEMY OF AN ENEMY IS A FRIEND TO THEM...AND IN THEIR EYES (BLINDLY) THEIR NUMBER ONE ENEMY IS THE CURRENT US ADMINISTRATION, NOT THE REGIME WHICH HAS SINGLE HANDEDLY SET BACK A COUNTRY OVER A 1000 YEARS.
THIRD GROUP: HIPPIES AND PEACENIKS, WHO ARE BLIND TO THE REALITY OF POLITICS. THEY PREACH NO WAR OR VIOLENCE, WHEN IN ALL REALITY THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF ALL THE COMPLEXITY OF THIS ISSUE. THEY ARE LIKE OSTERICHES, WHO PUT THEIR HEAD IN THE SAND AND THINK THAT WAY NO ONE CAN SEE THEM. THEY BELIEVE THAT BY IGNORING ALL THE VIOLENCE IN THE WORLD AND JUST PREACHING LOVE, PEACE AND HAPPINESS, THAT SUDDENLY THE WORLD WILL BECOME A BETTER PLACE AND AN EVIL LIKE THIS REGIME WILL GO AWAY.
WHAT I AM CONFUSED ABOUT IS WHICH ONE OF THESE CATEGORIES DOES THE IRANIAN.COM FALLS INTO?
I KNOW ABOUT JANGE-ZARGARI (FAKE WAR)...SO DONT TELL ME THAT JUST BECAUSE THE SITE IS BANNED IN IRAN IT IS NOT ON THE PAYROLL OF THE REGIME. ANY SITE, WHICH ALLOWS BACHEH MOLAHS ON BIKES AND THEIR EVIL PROPAGANDA IN THE NAME OF PEACE...JUST TO SAVE DADDY'S ASS BACK HOME IS JUST AS GUILTY AS THEM. SO AGAIN SHAME ON YOU IRANIAN.COM, WHICH EVER OF THE ABOVE GROUP YOU FALL INTO.
War pigs
by Anti-war (not verified) on Mon Oct 15, 2007 03:28 PM PDTA small percentage of Iranian traitors are hoping and praying that their masters in Washington D.C. and Tel Aviv will bomb Iran. These Rajavists and Pahlavists will do anything to have their leaders put in power. In the 1980s, these same people fought on Saddam's side against Iran. Now, these war-pigs are coming on Iranian.com and attacking anyone who opposes their agenda of coming to power through American-Israeli bombs. These scumbags weren't successful in 1988, and they won't succeed now either.

Peace and headscarf don't match
by Sarcastic (not verified) on Mon Oct 15, 2007 09:51 AM PDTIn Iran wearing a headscarf is not a woman’s choice. It got forced upon them first through random attacks and then by pouring acid on the face and then by barbarian law and who were they to make a decision against what they were told to wear?
It is so funny that these same Islamists when they move here, all of a sudden they start believing in a woman’s choice. But how come in Iran all women have to give up their freedom of choosing?
The true message of Peace cannot come from these violent type of people who love to beat up woman and to force their own choices on others in their own country.
How discouraging
by Tonya (not verified) on Mon Oct 15, 2007 09:39 AM PDTHow discouraging it is to see anything less than 100% support for these young people. We followed their trip from day one and looked forward to the conclusion of their trip in LA very eagerly. We were extrememly honored to be able to meet them in person before they left. Irregardless of the pesimistic attitudes or even the frankly offensive accusations of some, I know... I KNOW... their efforts were totally in the name of peace. You had to have been there to hear them speak so passionately. As far as the young women wearing their headscarf... and this is directed to YOU "Caspianseamermaid"... get off YOUR soap box. My religion requires me to maintain certain traditions and I'll be damned if I'd let anyone like you make me feel quilty about it or allow you to question it. Being Muslim is just as important to them as my God is to me. How dare you question their committment because you have no faith. You people have no idea what their trip was like... the difficulties they endured... the harassment they suffered... and now...NOW THEY ARE TAKING SHIT FROM THEIR OWN PEOPLE. How discouraging.
it should be a matter of choice
by Shirin on Mon Oct 15, 2007 02:45 AM PDTAn Iranian woman should be able to dress the way she wants to, whether she wants to cover her hair or not. Those who want them to take it off are just as bad as those who impose it. Who are you to tell people what to wear??? When will we learn to live and let live?
Mrs. Ebadi chose not to wear the headscarf when she travels outside Iran. Perhaps these women actually feel comfortable wearing the scarf.
Confusion about the headscarf
by Sarcastic (not verified) on Mon Oct 15, 2007 02:02 AM PDTThere are different types of headscarfs:
1) Hezbollahi type: the hair is fully covered and the dress is very covered and no makeup.
2) Taghooti type: the hair is almost out and the makeup is sofisticated and the dress very shiny or very unusual or very tight.
3) Tarsoo type: Hair is half out. makeup is half done and the dress is half-islamic.
I think some of these girls belong to the third group and all they really want is only to visit US and to enjoy a little bit of our freedom here. The rest are definitely group one.
Possibly the guys are their husbands or some "gheirati" family member, or some IRI spy, so they have no other choice than going back to Iran and to wear the thing.
We should ask the guys to give them the permission to remove the headscarf in the name of the world peace (why not live on Bebin TV? ), if it is what they really believe. Otherwise, they need to clarify their real mission underneath.

Thank you for sharing these pictures with us. I read about your project in a Danish newspaper the other day and it seems your message has reached the hearts of many people all over the world. Please do not pay attention to the ill-mannered and bi-adab comments.
