Looking fine

by Azadeh Azad
20-Aug-2009

On August 8 & 9, Vancouver Island's biggest annual fine art exhibition was held at Marina Park, in Comox Valley, British Columbia. All artworks were original and created by the artists who were present in the booths during the entire show. The following are some of the works that I liked best.

Agree with Ramintork (and the editor). The lavender palette stuns. Also there's sensuousness in the flower pattern of her robe mirroring what's in the vase.

I specially like the portrait #1.

Vancouver is such a great city and so beautiful, and a great place for those who love nature, and this shows in these painting.

#4, the lotus flower, is my favorite. It looks so real and natural!

Our mistake

by Jahanshah Javid on

Azadeh, Sheryl, Lisa,

The "buy" option was a mistake on our part. We have never sold or intended to sell any art work or images featured on iranian.com. We have now closed this option.

I have removed Sheryl's "Peace" and will remove any other art work if the artist requests it.

Our only intention is that works of art get a wider audience.

My apologies for any aggravation this has caused.

Speak to the publisher

Lisa et al:

Please contact the owner/publisher of this website, Jahanshah Javid. His email is: jj@iranian.com

I had no idea he was selling images I regularly send him. Previously, this feature did not exist. I believe that he needs to either remove this Photo Essay altogether or come to some agreement with all of you.

As for myself, I simply send him similar photo essays of art exhibitions for the love of art. I am not paid for any single publication on this website.

Thank you for your explanation and the removal of the "buy" option. I am happy with the speedy reply and outcome of this most unfortunate misunderstanding....elissa anhony www.monelissastudio.com

Paintings

by Azadeh Azad on

Dear BN,

Those hyperrealist ones are my favourites as well. Glad you enjoyed them. And no, I did not participate in this year's exhibition.

Sheryl:

You did give me permission to publish your single painting as part of this photo essay. And if you think that these are "cards" to be sold for anybody's benefit, you are mistaken. However, I suggest to JJ, the publisher, to remove the photo #19 to make you feel comfortable. Thank you, JJ.

Stolen art images

by Sheryl on

The paintings are very nice, however, I am one of the artists and I definitely did NOT give her permission to copy and sell my image.  Azadeh is breaching copyright laws by attempting to sell cards of these paintings!  Azadeh please take my "Peace" painting off this site immediately or I will be forced to take legal action!

Very nice paintings. My favorites were numbers 4 and 19. Nothing of yours?
