I loved the photos. I
by comments on Tue Apr 12, 2011 01:49 PM PDTI loved the photos. I hope we all travel to Iran more frequently and don't create a large cultural gap because of our long absent.
Thanks
by Azam Nemati on Tue Apr 12, 2011 01:09 PM PDTI am glad you approve of my selection of photos. I wanted them to be relatable.By the way, the fish is Soboor which is the most delicious fish in the world. As for the girls, the two tall ones are my nieces Manak and Parisa (finishing their final semester at school) , and the dark hair beauty is my nephew’s wife. The one wit green eyes ( with me in Abadan fast food joint), is my nephew’s wife and her mother is Abadani as well. The one with scarf is my baby sister.
Ms. Nemati, thanks for sharing your pictures
by Anahid Hojjati on Tue Apr 12, 2011 09:54 AM PDTIt was nice looking at pictures of several cities in Iran. I particularly liked pictures #14, 17, 28, 29, 37 and 42. Thanks for sharing.

Oh no not Sara Palin
by Azam Nemati on Tue Apr 12, 2011 07:16 AM PDTDear Yolanda, please don’t ever compare me to Sara Palin even jokingly. I despise her and for the record, I have a graduate degree, know history and geography of the world and am pro environment and an animal lover. I also hate guns. The gun was given to me by the keeper of Persian Antiquity (the guy next to me) and I did not want to hurt the old man’s feeling. As for the women inside (even outside in the street), it will really surprise the visitors to see how fashionable Iranian women are and that is thanks to the satellites which they all have and the fashion channel which features all the designers showcasing their fashion 24 x7. We do not have that channel in the US because it’s in Italian but watching models walking the catwalk does not require command of Italian!

by yolanda on Tue Apr 12, 2011 09:16 AM PDTWow! The girls look very stylish after taking off the chador!
I like the pictures from Shiraz the most: poet's tomb and Farsi calligraphy! Very beautiful!
Thank you for sharing!
I will read the essay later!
Nice pictures! The sight of that cooked fish is killing me!
by Esfand Aashena on Mon Apr 11, 2011 07:40 AM PDTThis looks so delicious! Was it as good as it looked? Again getting close to lunch and this picture is not helping! My ham sandwich is no match for this dish!
