Invisible Inner Partner

Dear One,

Thank you for sharing your imaginative creative work. One of the best ways to get to know one's contrasexual invisible inner partner (anima for men and animus for women) is through poetry, which you have done so well.

And the best way to "tame" or integrate the animus is to put it to work for you, which your bold images of the naked truth demonstrate. But the best has yet to come through your joint masterpiece....

I know nude is part of the Hisotry of art but this isn't cutting it for me. But thank God art is "subjective".

Even tho it's not shakespeare or Ansel Adams

What I like about this is the fact that it is different for us Iranians and God knows we need different!  (We can be so prudish and closed minded, which is only less annoying than the smugness we feel when conveying our mediocre, unoriginal thoughts--like Anonymous Iranian, who might well have said--Baba, een digeh chieh? Hala eenam shod Honar?)
And 2, I LOVE the guy you picked to be in it.  Fantastic choice to convey your idea, and very handsome too. Great Bod! Nice to see middle age celebrated instead of the boring predictability and perfection of youth. (Overdone, and over worshipped in this country).

 Nazy jan, I’m so glad you related so well to this poemography and found it hopeful. I’m not always as hopeful as you are about the nature of humanity. Please read Jung and about him; you will love him. Your thinking is already so completely aligned with his; it’s scary :-)

I rather see a woman's picture!

Instead of seeing an older man with bold head and flabs hanging from his stomach,I rather see a woman with a nice figure in a poemography.

For those not familiar with Jung, its a good chance to read a couple of books on him and the dark side of us...so they can have a better relationship with their anima/animus and their partners as well.

Let's Set aside this form of poetry for children bedtime story telling--

However I still see a whole poem in one page and converget picture in corresponding page would be a nice large size coffee table book treat for adult as long as the kids don't ruin it with their spilling juice ...

A Collage of Wisdom

This is such a beautiful poem. But why do you have to make things so hard for us?! I don't know Jung. If I know a piece of art or poetry is inspired or shaped by something I don't know, I can ignore it (easy way out), or try to relate to it with what little I do know (harder); and making a silly perfunctory comment just for the heck of it is not an option, certainly not for your work and not from me.

I really like your poem. When I read it without the photographs, (and of course if you don't know Jung, the title will also go over your head!), I can fully relate to it. I know those different people inside of us with whom we wrestle and struggle and love over the years. I know that those struggles shape our decisions and choices in life. It is comforting to read in your poem that eventually, all those people inside of us will age with grace and share each other's wisdom and learnings, to hopefully help us become better people! I loved that wise and loving take you have on yourself, heralding hope that I can, too!

I don't know how others react to pictures of a naked man walking through a forest. Past the initial shock of seeing unrelated and unexpected images appear before my eyes, I saw a perfect match of your poem with the images. Of course, since I don't know Jung and I can't understand how a man could be living inside of me, I couldn't relate to that man as well as I had with your words.

Past the novelty and low grade shock, and going back to read the verses with your photos this time, I understood your poem better and it appeared more poignant to me. I should say that your "model" was expressive enough in those photos to be called an "actor."

I admire your courage in bringing a different approach to expressing your thoughts and sentiments and art. It would be a lot easier to be conventional and go for beauty which most of us can understand a lot more quickly and with a lot less controversy. This is where you transcend being a poet and a writer and become an artist, something few of us can achieve.

Thank you for the collage of poetry, art, wisdom and understanding. You are a brave woman, Azadeh.

I enjoyed the photography very much. Expressing emotions and ideas with the naked body is not easy -- for us Iranians. Practice makes perfect. Great effort!
