Dear friends,
Please write to google map (I search for a while and found a place to put my comment, but no email to contact an official google personell) and let complain that you do not see the name Persian Gulf in their maps at //maps.google.com/.
If anyone finds a contact info, please let the rest of us know. If we all work together, we can fix this.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Dec 24, 2010 05:02 PM PSTI detect a hint of sarcasm in your post to me. I may be wrong. If so I apologize. If not please be direct. If you have an issue with me please get right to it so we can resolve it. I do not like misunderstandings and guess work.
If by any chance it has to do with my recent positions with respect to Fesenjoon say it. I have very strong opinions and do not shy away from stating them. On the other hand I am all for respect cooperation. That does not mean always agreeing.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:59 PM PSTYou are right. I am not trying to fight anyone but I do see a lot of hostility among people. Why: it beats me. It seems like people are getting off on hating each other. If you have any insight I would appreciate it.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:57 PM PSTThere is nothing we could do right now. The first thing should be to restore a decent government to Iran. Once IR is gone then the next thing is to fix up Iran as is.
A part of "fixing" things should involve an alliance of Persian Speaking Nations. That part is simple and even IR has the sense to pursue it.
In time a common market along with free movement of people and goods. These are not far fetched ideas. Iran does not need to conquer back the regions. Of course some are easier than others. Cooperation with Northern Afghanistan and Tajikistan is easy. They already speak Persian. They are our brothers and natural friends.
Dealing with Arabs over Bahrain is very complex. I do not see much happening. on that front.
Reading some of the comments :o(
by Khar on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:48 PM PSTNo wonder why they are taking away our last pieces of our national identity!!! Global Corporations are doing it, Satanic Islamic Republic is doing it, and Arabs neighbors are doing it. You can a least stop the in-fighting among yourselves.

by Simorgh5555 on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:42 PM PSTQuite right. Even the Shah still made a claim to Bahrain. It is ours as is all the other ex-soviet countries. Evil Pan Arabists and Russians: Our true enemies. What do you we do about them? Nothing

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:38 PM PSTTwo wrongs do not make a right. We should do all the right things.
Proper name for the Persian Gulf.
Iranian ownership of the Persian Gulf Islands. IMHO Iran should have never given up Bahrain.
Regarding Palestinians: I have had it with them. They put pan-arabism above friendship. Therefore do not get my friendship. Others decide as they wish. I think they are not our friends and just want to use Iran.

by Simorgh5555 on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:33 PM PSTI have the courage of my convictions to look my fellow patriots in the eye and tell them the only solution left to remove the regime.
You, on the other hand wine and moan about the IR but when it comes to the crunch you have no solution but to convince normal Iranians to put up and accept their fate. You lack the moral courage, leadership and speak like the true coward you are. No Iranian patriot will suck up to Arabs who constantly antagonise Iran.
In your twisted mind the only people who can take arms and resist occupation are the Palestinains who spill Jewish blood and that can only be explained by the Jew hate you have inherited like a family heirloom.
And given how spineless you are do you really expect people to believe you done 'real' fighting against the regime?
Patheitc man.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:29 PM PSTThe issue of Caspian Sea was mentioned before and I responsed. I will repeat my previous response:
The use of **** Gulf is a premeditated and deliberate insult to Iranians. Use of Kazar is not. I would of course be all for using Persian names when appropriate. I already suggested it. I never say Kazar or Shat-al-arab. I say Caspian and Arvand. So should the other people.

by Simorgh5555 on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:14 PM PSTI hope all Iranian patriot do and unite their voices against this shameful act......
And then support your usual Palestinian friends in every single grievance against Israel. If you were a real 'Iranian patriot' you would first take up your grievance with your Palestinian friends and not Google who take Iranian money and signed an Arab charter refusing to recognise the Persian Gulf and the Persian Gulf islands including Kish which the UAE wants to take.

by Simorgh5555 on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:07 PM PSTLet's start with calling the caspian sea its proper name 'Caspin' and not 'Khazar'.
Bandar Anzali = Badar Pahlavi.
Persian Gulf
by Bahram Gohari on Fri Dec 24, 2010 04:05 PM PSTEarlier I suggested that Iran should change every street name in which Arabs have their embassies in, to Persian Gulf street, thisway the (lizard eaters) Arabs have no choise but to use the name Persian Gulf when they corrsepond with their embassies, how about that?
This is disgrarceful and I will do my part to write to Google

The
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Dec 24, 2010 03:46 PM PSTright way to respond is to return the favor. I would say that Iranians should come up with their own names for Arabic named regions. No doubt there are Perisan names for the various places. So why not?
Then when the Arabs complain pay no attention. The other approach is to boycott Google. Use other map systems and search engines. And make it known to them. Money talks and Google will pay attention.
Writing petitions is a waste of time. If it was gonna work it would have by now. It ain't going to work because Google is run by jerks. I know that; I know many people who work there.
Persian Gulf
by Bahram Gohari on Fri Dec 24, 2010 03:26 PM PSTAbarmard:
How about another and another and another petition to change this s..t and make sure that the name Persian Gulf is used who ever and wherever it is.
