Dear friends,
Please write to google map (I search for a while and found a place to put my comment, but no email to contact an official google personell) and let complain that you do not see the name Persian Gulf in their maps at //maps.google.com/.
If anyone finds a contact info, please let the rest of us know. If we all work together, we can fix this.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

GOOGLE'S FORGED RESULTS FOR PERSIAN GULF UNIVERSITY
by zuruz on Wed Dec 29, 2010 07:44 AM PSTMy rersponse to Google:
Honorable Mr. Eric Schmidt Google CEO!
Happy New Year
I am a long time Google fan and supporter, but I'd like to ask you to fix one of the Google's serious search engine problems. When I asked the Google search engine strictly for the Persian Gulf University, Google provided me with some legal and useful results as well as some ILLEGAL, FORGED and FABRICATED terms such as Arabian Gulf universities. First of all where the heck is Arabian Gulf? No such a Arabian gulf ever existed throughout world history please check all the thousands of years ancient maps, documents and millions of archeological sites and discovered treasures hosted in Persia/ Iran land and worldwide and museums. You already know that even the United Nation's recognized and recommended the member nations to use the only legal name Persian Gulf? To me Google is risking a great responsibility, reputation and integrity among 75 millions of Persians/ Iranians at home and abroad and many millions of people worldwide who intend to preserve and protect the ancient history. Media should always preserve and guard the ancient history from opportunists, hackers and fraudulent and ancient identity thefts not help them steal, destroy or tamper with them just because of some fresh pan-arabism mentality in past few decades is rising by mostly by late corrupt Saddam and terrorists master Osama Bin laden. Thanks
Sincerely Yours
Thanks Simorgh, I appreciate it
by Bavafa on Mon Dec 27, 2010 10:42 AM PSTMy opposition to war is mainly that I don't believe foreign governments will go to war for the sake of others, it is all self serving. If I believed an attack by a foreign nation will serve IRANIANS, then I would gladly support and even join them.
And thank you VPK, if any one ever accused you of not being able to bring opposing views together and build consensus… just refer them to this instance.
The sad part is that vast majority of us agree mostly on the same thing but we keep focusing on our difference. Hope we all can learn.

Simorgh and Mehrdad
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Mon Dec 27, 2010 06:50 AM PSTMy dear friends; I am proud of you both and honored to be your friends. You have shown the best in people. The future of Iran requires all of us. Our differences are small compared to our agreements.
We all love Iran; we want the best for it and its people. The more people who take your positions; the closer we are to making progress. Reading your posts really made me happy! Thank you and my best wishes to you both.
Mehrdad Bavafa Thank you
by Simorgh5555 on Mon Dec 27, 2010 04:23 AM PSTI am truly humbled by your reply. For your service in the Persian Gulf War I totally honour you. People like me owe you a debt of gratitude which can never be paid. I fully understand why you hate war and the position you take is fully understandable which is why I was totally wrong to make those remarks. As I was not in your shoes I cannot begin to imagine the terrible things you saw and experienced.
Whatever political differences we have I know that I have learned a valuable lesson from this. Truly grateful to you, Sir!
Simorgh,
by Bavafa on Sun Dec 26, 2010 03:58 PM PSTFirst, I accept your apology and I thank you for it.
Second, I believe you are wrong that I accessed you of having an ulterior motive. If you see my comment just below (even in the mist of our jabs) you will see I specifically say otherwise. But if for what ever reason I gave you that impression, then I am sorry and please accept this as a clarification and that is not the case. There maybe only one person on IC (without mentioning names) that I some what believe has motives at heart that is not contrary to best interest for Iranian people.
Lastly, I believe my service to my home-land was some thing that it was my duty and deserves no admiration nor ridicule. None of us are perfect, as such I could have stayed in Iran and fight IRI, yet I choose to run way
But we are a bit more adults now and lets us discuss things based on issue, lets build consensus then division. Lets turn our hate for IRI into some strength in building a united front rather then fragmented opposition.

by Simorgh5555 on Sun Dec 26, 2010 10:35 AM PSTGiven the fact that you served in the war against Iraq then I retract my personal comments aginast you unreservedly and apoligse for the remarks which you may or may not accept but I mean it sincerely. I was not aware of your service in the Iran-Iraq war but I know VPK will never lie on this matter. I am afirad we have to agree to disagree on the use of military action but my position has always been held on the basis of hatred towards this regime anot for any ulterior motive you have accused me of.
VPK Jaan, appreciate the kind words
by Bavafa on Sun Dec 26, 2010 09:50 AM PSTI wish I could believe that an American attack on Iran would be for the benefit and interest of Iranian people. How great that would be, but I don't. America is only after its own interest and its interest is at odd with a free and independent Iran.
I don't question the motivation of most (including Simorgh) of those who cheer for an attack on Iran, only their wisdom. I believe their wishful thinking is out of naive ness and a hate that is clouding their judgment.
The last thing I wish for Iran is to get rid of IRI and fall into another regime similar or worse, be it MEK type or Kahrazi type.
BTW, my comment about your family properties was miss-understood but at the time too much emotion was involved on both side to allow room for logic.
Simorgh, you may have been a child then, but have proven that you have not grown up a bit. That is a shame
Mehrdad
Please
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Dec 26, 2010 04:30 AM PSTSimorgh Jan I like you in general consider you a patriot and a friend. But I do not agree with this fight with Mehrdad.
He is not claiming to have fought the IR; he fought Saddam. That I believe is the real fighting he is talking about. It was a very important thing for Iran. Yes Khomeini did prolong the war. Khomeini was a coward and hid behind the Iranian military. But the people who served against Saddam like Mehrdad are truly brave. They were the reason Iran managed to hold her own. They were not fighting for or against IR. They were fighting to preserve Iran from foreign attack.
Mehrdad Jan. I believe there are good Iranians who are truly sick of IR. They do not want to see daily executions and destruction of our heritage. In their desire for change they turn to America to attack IR and remove the regime. I know you absolutely do not approve. I don't approve either. But it has been doen before in history and sometimes worked out pretty well. For example Nazi Germany was successfully removed by war. Again; I am not advocating it just trying to see it from the other point of view. Once I do that I do not see them as bad people. Just angry Iranians who want a change; want it right now. An anger which is understandable.
I have had disagreements with Mehrdad before. Pretty serious ones I might add. Specially over the Palestinians and my family properties. But that should not spin out into a personal thing if at all possible.

Mehrdad The Fantasist
by Simorgh5555 on Sun Dec 26, 2010 03:30 AM PSTExcuse me but I was too young to fight in the first war against Iraq which would never have happened if the opportunist Saddam did not see a weakness in the Islamic Republic. Furthermore, after Khuzestan and all the Iranian territory was liberated Khomeini perpetuated the war to export his Islamic Revolution but all of a sudden he was told by the Angel Gabriel in a dream (or rather, a telegram from Bush Sr after the downing of the civilian airliner in 1988) that he should call a ceasefire!
Indeed, this is the same thing happening today! If the Hezbollahi scum decide to conscript young Iranian men to fight it won't be done for saving Iran but for thefighting to save the regime.
I very much hope if the Americans launch an attack on the IR, you and all the other IR groupists on Iranian.com will enlist to 'defend your country' and I will quite happily cheer from the sidelines as one by one another IR terrorist gets blow to pieces. GOOOOOOOOOOOD RIDDANCE.
Finally, I've asked you this on a numer of times:
P.S. And I am willing to bet that I have done more of "real fighting"
then you or most here on IC. Lets suffice to say that I have come much
closer to death at the hand of IRI thugs/Basij, then ever by the
Saddam's military/war
Were you drunk when you wrote this? Your bravado got the better of you? Fantasist.
You never fought the IR, you lied that you took up arms against the IR - a fact which you admitted later on. Don't take out your pitiful inadequacies on me.Tell me, did you also lie on your greencard or job application? You've never picked up a gun or hurt a fly in your life. You are not even half a man.

What do you call a person when his home land is attacked and invaded by a murderous and criminal Arab thug yet has no guts to go and defend his home land…a spineless bozdel who can not be count on to defend his family, let along his country.
Until you can come with the grip that and admit you made a mistake when you sold your vatan to an Arab dictator.. No one will take you serious in your ghod ghod about fighting.
Well, to be fair.. You not even professing to fight, you just want some body else (this time Zionist and ne-cons) to go and fight them for you.

by Simorgh5555 on Sat Dec 25, 2010 04:22 PM PSTFirstly, your use of profanities explains a lot about your upbringing but really, you shouldn't be using words like that to decribe your sister on a public forum.
The problem with you and Mehrdad the Fantasist is that you see no disctinction between the Islamic Republic and Iran. For all intents and purposes Iran is occupied by a foreign force which oppresses a kills, rapes and tortures Iranians on an industrial scale. Added, to that this anti-Iranian occupying terrorist regime has islamitised the country and eradicating Iranian national culture and heritage. But of course, none of this is important to you and you will be be willing to fight for this regime under the mistaken belief that you are protecting Iran. Nothing can be further from the truth: If you die fighting for this regime then I would be absolutely euphoric because there would be one less Haji in the world to worry about.
My conscience is clear. Death to the Islamic Republic. Now apologise to me and give your support to military action.

AS LONG AS WE PERSIANS/IRANIANS SIT UP AND DO NOTHING GOOGLE AND FOX NEWS WILL FORGE AND FABRICATE OUR HEARTS THE PERSIAN GULF. THERE IS ONLY A LEGAL WAY TO STOP SUCH ILLEGAL PUBLICATIONS. WE HAVE TONS OF EVIDENCE, DOCUMENTS AND THE UNITED NATIONS RECOGNIZED AND RECOMMENDED TO ALL THE MEMBER NATIONS THE LEGAL NAME IS ONLY PERSIAN GULF. NEXT STEP IS SINCE MULLAH REGIME OF IRAN DOES NOT CARE, BRAVE PERSIANS/IRANIANS SHOULD SERIOUSLY FILE SUIT AGAINST PUBLISHERS FOR FORGING AND FABRACATING THE THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD HISTORICAL AND LEGAL DOCUMENT. ARABS ARE WASTING MILLIONS OF OIL AND GAS MONEY TO BRIBE NEWS PAPERS, PUBLISHERS AND OTHERS TO REACH THEIR EVIL GOALS. THEY ARE FOLLOWING THE PAN-ARABISM MENTALITY OF SADDAM AND OSAMA AND STEALING PERSIAN/IRANIAN IDENTITIES. WE THE 75 MILLIONS OF PERSIANS/IRANIANS MUST GUARD THE PERSIA/IRAN TERRITORY WITH ALL MEANS AND LIVE IT FOR NEXT GENERATIONS NOT ONE INCH LESS.

This guy was utterly disrespectful to His Majesty then goes kissing Mollah butt. Do you know he has at least 20 Emmy; three duPont and three Peabody Awards! So much for the meaning of such awards. Really the man has brought shame to journalism. He deserves to live under Sharia for the rest of his miserable life.

by Simorgh5555 on Sat Dec 25, 2010 03:50 AM PSTNo worries, my friend! I hope you are having a fine Christmas day.
Wallace was a grotesque odious man and the Shah put him in his place brilliantly regarding the correct name of the Persia Gulf, "What did you call it [the Persian Gulf] when you went to school?" A stroke of genius that humbled the smart ass Walace and wiped that sneering glance off his face.
What was even more cringe worthy was seeing the hack Wallace sitting cross leged in front of Khomeini and listening to him reverently in stark contrast to his rude comportment with the Shah.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sat Dec 25, 2010 02:56 AM PSTThank you for the clarification and your kind words. .I am sorry for misunderstanding and apologize. I hope we can all work together get once for all put these Persian Gulf thing to rest. But I fear it will not be that simple.
As you remember it was a point of contention even when Shah was around.
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYTfZOfTUhg
I remember an interview with Mike Wallace where Shah discusses this issue. It is socking how rude Wallace is to the Shah of Iran. That interview said more about the attitude of some people about Iran than anything.
Whenever I watch that with Wallace grinning stupid face I get sick.

by Simorgh5555 on Sat Dec 25, 2010 02:19 AM PSTNo, there was absolutely no sarcasm intended and I am sorry you were given that impression. You are a true patriot and decent Iranian patriot and a true democrat because you are always willing to listen to the other side regardless of whether you agree with them or not. I did not follow all your posts concerning you and Fesenjon.
good catch Abarmard
by MM on Fri Dec 24, 2010 10:36 PM PSTI did a search in Google maps for Persian Gulf as well as Arabian Gulf. Although Google does not put a name in the Persian Gulf area, the search for either Persian Gulf or Arabian Gulf finds the same body of water. However, when searched, the Perian Gulf marker is placed closer to the Iranian shoreline whereas the Arabian Gulf marker is placed near the UAE shoreline. WRONG approach, nonetheless.
Responses
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Dec 24, 2010 07:38 PM PSTMehrdad: Thank your for your kind words. I am with you on most of these issues about Iran. I realize we will not get everyone on board but we will get a good number. That is a good start.
Abarmard: Thanks for writing NIAC. I am on board with this one. Other differences put aside. We need to all get behind this if we want to improve our prospects. I will also write NIAC again.
However I like NIAC to also work on guarantees that USA would not stir up separatist problems. That is also a very important issue for Iran. National territorial integrity is to me even more important than the name of Persian Gulf.

VPK jaan: first no apology is needed
by Bavafa on Fri Dec 24, 2010 07:00 PM PSTYou did not say thing nor I took it in any wrong way, I just wanted to understand your point better, nevertheless thank you for being who you are.
I can not agree more with what you said. Unfortunately we see this trend over and over among the small group that we are on IC. Some prefer and go out of their way to focus more on little difference instead of nurture the vast agreement that we all have.
As I said and you seem to be in agreement, I rather deal with issues rather then groups in totality, I feel much for the Palestinians that have been living home-less for over 60 years, but this does not mean that I agree with them if/when they are used against Iranian interest or Iranian people.
In discussions, much like most people, there are some red lines that I will not cross and can not see myself ever compromising such as bombing/occupying Iranians by foreign nations. The long term integrity of Iran and Iranians are non-negotiable for me.
Anyway, said more then I planned on, so again wish you a Merry Christmas and wish all Iranians a free, prosperous and secular Iran.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Dec 24, 2010 06:24 PM PSTI apologize if I was not very clear in my statement. What I should have said was: we do not need to agree on everything. People may disagree on Palestine. But agree on name Persian Gulf.
We should work on what we agree on. Not fight over our differences. I just do not get this trend. Why do people who agree on 50% have to fight over the other part. That is all I meant.

VPK jaan:
by Bavafa on Fri Dec 24, 2010 06:11 PM PSTI am not sure what you mean by two wrongs, but as you may have got to know me, I believe and try to deal with issues rather then a complete blanket of approval or disapprovals towards a group/nationality or country.
If Arabs want to rename Persian Gulf or any other territory that legally belong to Iran, then they will get my condemnation just as if US or UK is behind such move. In this case, I believe it is US that is behind it meanly to appease Arabs towards a confrontation with Iran, in which case both need to be condemn with the strongest word and action.

Confused and filled with hatred
as far as they're concerned
They want regime change at any cost!
Sanctions, 'surgical military attacks', war, whatever it takes
And you expect them to worry about 'Persian Gulf''s name?
Read their comments,
Look at the ads, the site is flooded by you know who.
There's money to be made to be anti Iranian
especially if you're Iranian.

by Bavafa on Fri Dec 24, 2010 06:25 PM PSTI tell you who spineless is… those who were of the age (lets say 18 and up) to fight the Iraqis, the very same Arabs that you hate so much, and did not, those are the spineless. Now, I am not talking about a minority that they had medical issue or perhaps were out of the country or at least they have matured and learned not to betray their own mother-land .
Of course the medical issue could very well apply to you as retards are considered medically challenged and therefor not expected or fit to go and fight.
There is another group that I consider spineless, those who expect and even brag for a foreign military to go and bomb Iran. I consider those spineless, filth, traitor, vatan-forosh.
So, you can think for yourself to see which group you fall in. If you did fight against the Saddam criminal army, Arabs if you will, then you were a patriot in my book but if you did not… you are a spineless coward.
