by Abarmard on Wed Jun 03, 2009 01:54 PM PDTIt was really tense debate. Ahmadinejad was more organized and was playing catch you well at the beginning. Mousavi later came and hunt him down with his own tactics. It was a brutal debate. I am not sure who won.
Those who like Ahmadinejad would love him here and those who like Mousavi would love their candidate. I don't believe that there was a clear winner.
If you get a chance to see a taped broadcast, definitely see this one.

thanks
by IRANdokht on Wed Jun 03, 2009 10:27 AM PDTThe fact that people in Iran will be able to see these people debate on TV and speak of issues and criticize the current government of Ahmadinejad is new to most iranians. This is how democracy needs to progress in a society that's been deprived of it forever! Iranians need to learn to speak and debate and not tear each other apart when they disagree. True, there is no real freedom of speech in Iran but can Iranians really handle that truly tolerant and free speech without first learning how to deal with others?
Obviously the iranians in the west have not learned it yet because we were thrown into an already democratic and open-discussion type of society. We still get all tangled up when we debate each other.
I would love to see how much they are allowed to say and how the debates will go but I have no idea what IRTV3 is... I hope they are on the web too.
Please let me know if you ever get info about web broadcasts.
Thanks!
