You wake up to this news:
The Supreme Leader's office has just issued an announcement: It has come to our attention, that there has been some irregularities in the recent presidential election. Well, I am happier
by Mehdi on Tue Jun 16, 2009 12:33 PM PDTI don't particularly care who becomes the president but for me what is nice to see is Iranians making a real effort to improve things in Iran. It is great to see people striving for improvement. I hope the West would help them by removing sanctions and normalizing relationships so the the opressors and the superstitionists will not have a leg to stand on anymore. With the removal of "threat against Islam and Iran," Iranians will have more courage to engage in dialogue and demand more freedom.

wrong question put to the wrong people
by KB on Tue Jun 16, 2009 10:15 AM PDTAli Jan
On the basis that most of the readers of this site live outside of Iran, enjoying the benefits of the “free world”, not really experiencing how an average Iranian is suffering, you are asking the wrong question from the wrong group of people.
We have the luxury of being “Monday morning quarterbacks” from 5000 miles away and contemplate the hypothetical win by Mousavi and how it would make us feel. To people in Iran it has a completely different meaning regardless of who or what Mousavi is.
I have a lot facebook friends in Iran, and in the past three weeks there has been no other conversation other than this election both pre and post Friday. They were all supporting Mousavi and so hopeful of changing something in the system. If your question should be put to them, I bet I’d know what the answer would be.

by YES (not verified) on Tue Jun 16, 2009 09:31 AM PDTThe tone of your blog infers that you don't think the PEOPLE of Iran, not the western world mind you, but the people IN Iran, have a viable concern! Your tone is dismissive and slightly "peeved". Please forgive AND correct me if I'm wrong. It is the people of Iran who are protesting the elections. Do you deny them that right? And yes, if the elections ARE rigged and it is proven that they are and the true victor is declared to be Mousavi then YES, WE WOULD BE HAPPY NOW. And then, only then, could we go on about our lives. Because if we DON'T address this NOW, then the people OF Iran will be DENIED their life.
Rosie. You've got to learn to ignore kurush. He rants from the SAFETY of the western world that he hates so much. That "mob" that he speaks of are the TRUE Iranians whose future is at stake. Not his or his sidekick JaelHO's.
#iranelection cyberwar guide
by moo (not verified) on Tue Jun 16, 2009 08:19 AM PDT#iranelection cyberwar guide for beginners
Posted at June 16, 2009
The purpose of this guide is to help you participate constructively in the Iranian election protests through twitter.
Do NOT publicise proxy IP’s over twitter, and especially not using the #iranelection hashtag. Security forces are monitoring this hashtag, and the moment they identify a proxy IP they will block it in Iran. If you are creating new proxies for the Iranian bloggers, DM them to @stopAhmadi or @iran09 and they will distributed them discretely to bloggers in Iran.
Hashtags, the only two legitimate hashtags being used by bloggers in Iran are #iranelection and #gr88, other hashtag ideas run the risk of diluting the conversation.
Keep you bull$hit filter up! Security forces are now setting up twitter accounts to spread disinformation by posing as Iranian protesters. Please don’t retweet impetuosly, try to confirm information with reliable sources before retweeting. The legitimate sources are not hard to find and follow.
Help cover the bloggers: change your twitter settings so that your location is TEHRAN and your time zone is GMT +3.30. Security forces are hunting for bloggers using location and timezone searches. If we all become ‘Iranians’ it becomes much harder to find them.
Don’t blow their cover! If you discover a genuine source, please don’t publicise their name or location on a website. These bloggers are in REAL danger. Spread the word discretely through your own networks but don’t signpost them to the security forces. People are dying there, for real, please keep that in mind.
Denial of Service attacks. If you don’t know what you are doing, stay out of this game. Only target those sites the legitimate Iranian bloggers are designating. Be aware that these attacks can have detrimental effects to the network the protesters are relying on. Keep monitoring their traffic to note when you should turn the taps on or off.
Do spread the (legitimate) word, it works! When the bloggers asked for twitter maintenance to be postponed using the #nomaintenance tag, it had the desired effect. As long as we spread good information, provide moral support to the protesters, and take our lead from the legitimate bloggers, we can make a constructive contribution.
Please remember that this is about the future of the Iranian people, while it might be exciting to get caught up in the flow of participating in a new meme, do not lose sight of what this is really about.

I assume the Wednesday demonstration will be in fron of the Embassy.
Thank you for your comments
by Ali P. on Tue Jun 16, 2009 07:36 AM PDTThanks everyone for your comments.
Mina: There was a relatively big crowd in front of the embassy in Washington, D.C. on Monday. I found out about it around 5:30 pm, and was there by 6:30 pm.
(I shot some videos and may post it to this site later on today)
The next one is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, probably around 6 pm.
Yours,
Ali P.

We all know that you guys don't give a hoot about Iran's Pre-Islamic civilization and do not even consider Iran existed before the Arab invasion and forceful imposition of Islam!!! why such hypocrisy?!!
Hajagha "Kurush" (lol!) you are talking about our "indepndence, our autonomy & our sovreignty" yet your leader and his sidekick Antari have already turned Iran over to Russia, China and the terrorist thugs Like Hamas and Hizbullah in the ME! in fact, you looneys are changing Iran into a militaristic isolated pariah state like North Korea and Cuba!

The Birth Process
by moftaki on Tue Jun 16, 2009 06:03 AM PDTDear Ali P:
Each time a newborn goes through the birth canal the event is marked by cries of pain that seem to be endless, but eventually the pain is forgotten and one can witness the joy on the face of the mother and the rest of family.
What our country is going through at this time is quite similar. The pain experienced by the youth of Iran seems unending, but I assure you that the results would be sweet. Most of the effective changes will occur behind the scenes in the halls of power between Hashemi, Khameneie and the rest of their clans. Only when that rift becomes public we could witness the end of IRI.
By the way has anyone asked the question "where are the lobbyists of the IRI at this time?" Have you seen Amirahmadi making any comments on air? Trita Parsi referred to the youth of Iran as the mob. I see Kurush as one of them to just read his comments before mine.
No, not enough!!
by Souri on Tue Jun 16, 2009 04:51 AM PDTAli jan,
Have you read the declaration of Monday rally?
The first thing they claim is the replacement of the Supreme Leader.
There are 7 demands, only the 2 last ones, are what the people need and the people asked for and the people are dying for!!!
They know what to do for bringing people on the street when they want and how they want!
I had posted this revealing news in some other blogs. Hope you had read it. It says it all:

Very good question Ali
by Farah Rusta on Tue Jun 16, 2009 01:02 AM PDTThe answer you will surely get from the protesting crowd is, I am afarid, a reluctant yes! As I wrote in my latest blog: Iranians know what they don't want but they know not what they want.

I heard the Guardian Council said it will reexamin the result...
by Darius Kadivar on Tue Jun 16, 2009 12:55 AM PDTBut Ahmadinejad is on a State Visit to Moscow right now for his so called first State visit as new elected president.
How ironic if Ahmadinejad ends up like Caucescu during the Rumanian Revolution where he was in Iran for a State visit ...
I think it will depend on the demo ( Anti and Pro Demo on the same hour in Shahyad/Azadi Square) today if God forbid it turns bloody anything that Khamenei says or doesn't say won't matter anymore.
So Today is a Testing Day ...
The season of treason!
by Kurush (not verified) on Mon Jun 15, 2009 11:29 PM PDT30 years of independence from Western powers, from those dark days when Iranian politicians lined up at the British embassy to get their pay & instructions! This is the payday for the Western thugs who psyched up these people to rise up against their own national governemnt. They, the Iranian mob roaming the streets with impunity, will hand down to this and future generations an impotent Iran ruled by the Western thugs. Do not make a mistake about this, if the protesters get their way, it would be the Western thugs who will be the ultimate winners, not Iranians. We have only one government which once it is gone, so will our indepndence, our autonomy & our sovreignty. Ahmadinejad must not back down, nor should Khameni back down, the issue is no longer fraud in the election, the issue is treason on a large scale. I would take out the APC & tanks and will show no mercy. Independence of Iran for this generation and future generations is more important than the lives of those who have set out to overthrow a legitimate national governemnt of Iran.
