No thanks BBC, Your survey worth Nothing, Zero, Zitch,Nada
by aaj sr (not verified) on Sat Jan 17, 2009 11:12 PM PSTSMELL OF BIG, OLD ROTTEN FISH IS HERE.
There are a few basic questions that any high school student would ask, but conducting such a childish, survey from THE reputable BBC! is really showing how primitive their system is, or should we bring the question of conspiracy?. Just imagine, such an important survey conducted in UK? Most probably the head of survey company, if not the head of BBC would loose his/her job.
-how many people participated in this survey? 100? 1000? 10,0000. what's the percentage of error?
-what demographic they have used? what percentage, depending on population were surveyed, from bigger cities, smaller cities, villages etc?
-how the telephone number/ people selected?, what was the criteria? were the survey conducted from homes, offices? cell phones? what was the ministry of communication involvement in this survey, if any? How about ministry of information's ( Savama's) involvement?
-Who were the companies conducting the survey ( it says " a few companies participated in this survey", but there is no name, why?) ? what is their relation with Iranian government? Who financed the survey, who are receiving the entire details of the survey, and for how much?
-Did BBC received permission from Iranian authorities prior to conduct this survey?
-IMPORTANT :what were the questions? (it has been proven, scientifically, you get absolutely a different results, by asking the same questions in a different manner, atmosphere, etc.)
NOW;
we know that poverty and unemployment are the most important issues for any society, be it in USA, Europe, Bangladeshi and of course Iran is no different, so there is no surprises here, specially we know the unemployment is above 22%, inflation is above 27% (latest central bank figures, however in actuality, these figures are much higher, and that's out of our subject matter here ) BUT..
while we know many factories are closed, some union leaders are in jail, women's issues consisting of 50% of population, student issues, lack of basic social freedom, lack of freedom of speech/writing/demonstration, stoning issues, hanging in public, child labor issues, juvenile quitting school issues, political prisoners, drug, prostitution, closure of news papers, corruption, Sunni/Shia issues, unrest in Kurdistan, Baluchistan, Azerbaijan just to name a few, make me think this survey is absolute garbage, rubbish, stupid, again to name few of my frustration for seeing in day light, they are fooling our own people and giving wrong signals to the entire world about our basic, fundamental problems.
remember, there very many other statistics coming out of country almost every month, majority of them from central bank and or other governmental, NGO offices with a vast differences from BBC's.
To BBC: We are living in the 21st century, age of information, technology and Internet. BBC, you are loosing your credibility more than ever before.
IRI supporters, please go to hell
by Shazde Asdola Mirza on Sat Jan 17, 2009 05:08 PM PSTOnly shameless, heartless, mindless inhuman monsters can support such fascist regimes like IRI.
Q are you supporting IRI?
Jaleho are you?
Mirza, you have a problem with reality
by Q on Sat Jan 17, 2009 04:53 PM PSTit's time to face facts. You can pull numbers out of your ass and claim they are the truth. Everybody is wrong. All the foreign polls and journalists are wrong. All the people in the streets are paid, nobody is a Muslim, etc. etc. But you are only fooling yourself.
You still haven't learned to dissociate your own political ideology from reality on the ground. Maybe it will take you another 30 years to finally understand.
Dear shazdeh
by Jaleho on Sat Jan 17, 2009 02:18 PM PSTyou said:
"80% of iranians hate the IRI."
Then what was the percentage that hated Shah's regime which so violently overthrew him and brought mullahs to power, despite thousands of American military staff inside Iran and the big western support that shah was enjoying? Seems to me that hatred figure back then should have been at least 176%. Iranians also seem to go in large percentiles to vote in the current system, as the international observers would make you believe, no?
Also, since you so prophetically know this: "This dictatorship of mollahs will collapse like a house of cards"
Pray tell, when?
People like you have been saying that for about 30 years now. Would your children be saying the same thing to mine?
Q, you shouldn't shove the Q tip so far into your ears!
by Shazde Asdola Mirza on Sat Jan 17, 2009 12:59 PM PST80% of iranians hate the IRI.
Only 20% made of their paid mercenaries, attachees and malijaks like and support the akhondi regime.
This dictatorship of mollahs will collapse like a house of cards, much sooner than your beloved israel!
In that case
by cyclicforward on Sat Jan 17, 2009 09:32 AM PSTIf Iranians support the IRI government then why don't we have a free elections for the president post and why do they need an unelected leader such as Khamenei?
The truth of the matter is that you can not call someone in Iran over the phone and ask them if they support this or that. There is really no trust in the society to respond to the poles freely. So I don't think these votes represent the population.
Also please remember that Saddam had a 100% of the vote on the last election he held in his country:-)
Makes a lot of sense
by Jaleho on Sat Jan 17, 2009 07:03 AM PSTAfter the miserable failure in Iraq by the UK and US fooling themselves into " Iraqis will welcome us with flower and open arms," they are forced to do a more realistic assessment about Iran! It was not so fun to notice that Iraqis in fact welcomed them with another kinda arms :-)
I still think that they get too giddy when they hear a large number of Iranians complain about economy. While it is true that sanctions are hurting Iran economically, and a lot of people do suffer a tight budget, but Iranians won't give up an iota of that nuclear right that the 94% are supporting, not for any amount of economic pressure that the west is hoping would break their will!
Thanks a lot for the link.
disappointment!
by Ali.Sanaei on Sat Jan 17, 2009 06:24 AM PSTSome people seem really pissed off here!
Why do Iranians in exile continue to be so out of touch?
by Q on Sat Jan 17, 2009 01:58 AM PSTthat's the real question.
Every one of the statistics was reasonable. Do you really need BBC to tell you Iranians are not going to revolt against IRI? Is that really a surprise to you after 30 years?
Tell me, geniuses, what does the government of UK gain by making IRI look good? Why don't you people understand simple concepts? Polls work. They are accurate. What exactly are controversial in these numbers? 75% of people thinking elections are a good thing? Is that a surprise?
Look at Washington funded shills like Mehdi Khalaji try to explain away the reality but you can't argue with the numbers.
