Reza Pahlavi in his recent interview in Germany , He stated that once the regime has been removed , and after a short transitional government, people should be asked to vote for republic or monarchy. He said that he advocates monarchy instead of republic for Iran. and for this people must choose. My question to Reza Pahlavi is , if the people have did choose monarchy , then :-
I am very interested to find out the answer to this.

Reza Pahlavi a Con Artist?
by capt_ayhab on Tue Apr 13, 2010 02:40 PM PDTBeing truthful with you, a man who was TRICKED by some TERYAKI shaholahi's out of the stolen fortune, and I mean FORTUNE, that was left for him is not a con artist, but a very nice fat target for real con artists, from American Institute for Foreign Poly, to AIPAC to Likud.
Are you slipping on your facts?....[JK]I would have had more respect for him if he was that sharp.

by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Tue Apr 13, 2010 02:07 PM PDT"After the regime is removed." LOL Passive verbs come in handy like bread when the fridge is empty. This guy is a con artist supreme. by capt_ayhab on Tue Apr 13, 2010 01:41 PM PDTYou did not get my point. I could care less about opportunistic character like Reza Pahlavi.
I was opening a dialogue to dissect this mans lack of qualification to run a pizza shop let alone a revolution and a country.
So chill hamvatan, read carefully before you jump the gun.

by free vs islam on Tue Apr 13, 2010 12:44 PM PDTWhy is that RP is not right person to lead and if there are people that you know please point them out to me.
He is not claiming the kingdom that is option which people will have and come to real world and let us unifies the nation against the regime that knows nothing but murdering kids and tourchering them. so all us we need eachother for change, either is Pahlavi or any one who could unite the nation for brighter path and enough of religion BS.
Reza Pahlavi should get out
by prsch on Tue Apr 13, 2010 12:41 PM PDTReza Pahlavi should get out of the political arena. He should just be thankful that he doesn't have to work for a living and live his life quietly. If it weren't for whatever happened with his grandfather, he would have been among the lower class, and least educated members of Iranian society. Even with all the opportunities that he had, he only has a bachelors degree. I'm not impressed with him or any member of his family. And he definitely doesn't have royal blood. Also, Iran is not Afghanistan, political leaders should rise from within the country.

Answer: Its few remaining Arab-sheeteleh-begueer, like Sargord Pi^2, who don't even speak Persian and with their fuzzy logic make the days of Iranians in the dispora when they "talk".

Ali jan, this is an excellent point
by Bavafa on Tue Apr 13, 2010 11:23 AM PDTI think the assertion that RP wants to be both as a leader and as a king that has no "real" power is a contradictory one. If we are to believe that in the next monarchy, the king would just be a symbolic role with no power, then why do we keep hear him as the leader of the next regime. Can one be a leader yet have no power?
I hardly think there would be any opposition from any one if RP wants to submit himself as a candid to be the next president in Iran and if he really has the sort of support that is claimed to have, then he will be elected. Otherwise, hopefully he and his followers will respect the outcome and go spend the rest of the money they took.

Monarchy
by ali_UK on Tue Apr 13, 2010 10:42 AM PDTTheir symbolic existance in Europe is really historical. This system was ended in Iran over 30 yeas ago.Although some may argue that "velayete faghih" is a form of monarchy ( dictaorship it certainly is ).
Going back to monarchy from republicanism is a political regression and not evolution.
And if it is only symbolic , as Reza Phalavi claims , then why?Why have a king and a prime minister?
Why not put yourself forwad as a presidential candidate in this theoritcal scenario.
Ali Jan although I find your question a very valid and civil one
by Bavafa on Tue Apr 13, 2010 09:15 AM PDTThe whole idea of "monarchy" that is to choose a person or family to live off people for generations to come, for me, is reprehensible and I can not believe that still exist in some parts of the world. But then again, we have similar regime in Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations which in concept are nothing different then monarchy.
From what I gather monarchy still has some supporters outside of Iran although I am not clear on their motives but I doubt if there is any support for it in Iran. Yes, people are sick and tired of the existing regime but I don't think they are wishing for another "az ma behtaron va agha bala sar" They already got one.

Self Serving call of RP
by capt_ayhab on Tue Apr 13, 2010 07:49 AM PDTReza Pahlavi has said[Reza Pahlavi in his recent interview in Germany , He stated
that once the regime has been removed , and after a short transitional government, ]
1. His choice of the ballet represents his self serving agenda to say the least. He conveniently forgets the fact that his own blood line and the word monarchy links him to YET another repressive regime with bloody hands. He might as well suggest onl;y one question MONARCHY - YES - NO, just like Khoaminie in 1979.
2. By transitional government, Reza Pahlavi envisions himself as CHALABI of Iran:
//www.iran-interlink.org/files/News4/Mar06/Ne...
Those who were keen on the Chalabi model-that is, an exile who could supposedly organize and unify the opposition-were looking at Iran
through that prism, too. Conservative think tanks like the American Enterprise Institute and the Washington Institute on Near East Policy "have been looking for a Chalabi," according to Gary Sick, who was the principal White House aide for Iran during the Iranian revolution and is now a professor at Columbia University. Sick listed prospective Chalabis who have visited one or both of the institutions over the past several years: Reza Pahlavi; Hussein Khomeini, the grandson of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini; and Mohsen Sazegara, one of the founders of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps. Sazegara leaped briefly to the forefront of the referendum movement in the fall of 2004, in London.]

by ali_UK on Tue Apr 13, 2010 07:05 AM PDTIn your zest to defend the “king” you failed to see the irony and sarcasm in my post. Instead of thinking a bit more , you just put on your patronizing hat on and …. Reza Pahlavi has tried very hard to disassociate himself from his father , presenting at the same time a very progressive and open minded individual. Whilst believing that he should be the king and waiting for peoples call.Yes , the peoples call for HIM .He is not offering a wide choice , either republic or him.. At least the pretence is over.
Why are You asking the Question if You have the answer ?...
by Darius Kadivar on Tue Apr 13, 2010 06:37 AM PDTFor a UK "Subject" You seem quite Ignorant of the Very Concept of the Monarchy and what Restoration is all about !
Does Charles II ring a Bell ?
The Current Queen Elizabeth II Would Never have been Queen if Her Uncle had Not abdicated to marry a divorced American.
As Such Her claim to the throne is an indirect one and Only Second in Line after her own Father's accession prior to her own coronation in 1953 ( Year of the Coup ... or rather Counter Coup in Iran by the way ...)

Question: Know how to
by Sargord Pirouz on Tue Apr 13, 2010 04:46 AM PDTQuestion: Know how to measure the cascading decline of the Green Movement within the ranks of the diaspora?
Answer: The number of monarchy postings in IC. It definitely signifies a "restoration" of sorts back into the political wilderness.
Of course they can !
by Darius Kadivar on Tue Apr 13, 2010 05:03 AM PDTAny Qajar Pretender can move forward same thing for any previous dynasty pretender !
Be My Guest !
Restorations However Usually Restore the Last Dynasty given the Monarchies are about Continuity Not Discontinuity. This explains why even under the Pahlavis Qajar Princes could run for Office as Minister or Ambassador and they did. Such as Farhad Sepahbody ( Qajar Prince) ambassador to Morroco and former Diplomat in London or Ardeshir Zahedi ( Zand Dynasty) who became ambassador to Washington.
One of the Pretenders to the Qajar Throne I believe lives in the UK or France.
Mohammad Hassan Mirza II (1988-present)
More about them Here
To my knowledge they are not running for the Office of Kingship at least not active politically for that matter !
