I can not really add anything to Cicero's words on the paragraph below. Iranians have come to know Extremist Islam, which seeks to have power in Government and be Anti-Secular, Anti-Democracy and Anti-Monarchy. Irans Muslims who do not Condemn IRI and benefit from it are Today not just representatives of corrupted islamic authorities, but the traitors within Iran against King and Country.
A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.
Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 BC –43 BC)

APFSM, how did you know
by Mash Ghasem on Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:15 PM PSTI have a hangover?
You're 100% correct in your observation that we had many, many well educated, qualified Iranians during shah's time. I'm really not sure if that could also be said of the people above them, in the leadership level (though I haven't done such a comaparative analysis of the mid-level and high-level officials of the Pahalvi era).
Agha jan, I think of your arguments as conspiracy theory, simply because of the fact that, the key concern, and key concept for all politicians and policy makers in Western establishment is STABILITY. What they all tired to do in Iran of late 70's was to bring back that stability and status-quo as much as possible. Once they realized that the alternative to Khomeini is a progressive or even radical one, they backed him, after the Guadallope conference.
Last but not least, bygones are bygones, beating a dead horse is not going to change anything.
What we ough to focus at is: here and now. The opposition to IR is in a great position to learn from all the mistakes of the past and to creat a plural, forward looking, tolerant Iran. Cheers

by alimostofi on Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:36 AM PSTAmir: Philosophy
Like Greeks, Iranians have always been philosophical. Most of it was burnt no thanks to Koran. People do not know about pre-Islamic philosophy of Iran, other than what is written in Zend Avesta, and on ancient stone inscriptions. But in our hearts and soul we are extremely philosophical. So our solution to the future lies in a philosophical attitude. It all starts with a Good approach.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:23 AM PSTexperience showed me, my view was the opposite, the people for example running zobahan were top harvard and yale graduates, sharp as they come and highly qualified, but we all live in our own worlds and my view into iran came from tehran and tehran university, so I may have only seen the qualified ones, in could have been different on the national level I don't know, iran seemed to be doing better in my experience, though overwhelmed by modernization and capitalism style unequal growth like china and russia ow have and the US and UK once had. I totally related to ali's blog. Though Ali, you are not happy with the pahlavi's phylosophical stance, its far better than the most iranians.
Conspiracy theory? Look HaySeed, I show you acts with rational scientific justications and ample proof and you say conspiracy, please stop drinking.

by alimostofi on Sun Feb 19, 2012 09:15 AM PSTMG: crucial period ...
To define the most crucial period is hard. But most agree it was the moment when the 50000 troops under Gharabaghi were told to stay clear, as the nation's security was not under threat.
Do you know of the meeting between Bagheri Fardoost and the other generals? Fardoost lied when he said that the Constitution of Iran stated, that only if the national borders are threatened, does the national army gets the authority to act.
Next and perhaps more important, is that the so called "Loyal Army of Iran" did a deal with Khomeini as long as they are not killed. We know what happened.
I know perhaps more than all about the ancient Iran. But even if I could explain it and you believe me, if you do not do the right thing at the right time to preserve it, it is worthless.
Cyrus would not understand what happened to the Zend Avesta. He would not understand how it has been abandoned. The Royal Institution has a duty to preserve its philosophical roots. MRP knew little of this. CRP is clueless. We need a proper Royal Institution for the sake of our ancient words. A republic cannot preserve those words.
It's all about loyalty morality and above all Persian Pride.
Very simple.

by Mash Ghasem on Sun Feb 19, 2012 08:44 AM PSTAPFSM, my dearest conspiracy theory peasant,
Yesterday I thought you how to spell Persian names in English.
Today I shall teach you a branch of social science called Political-Economy.
What occured in Iran and throughout the world in early 70's, is commonly referred to as Crisis of the Capitalist Mode of Production. In a sense very much like what the global economy is facing today after four decades.
What you and your conspiracy minded types, need to ask yourselves is why all these other countries also facing similar crisis (South Korea, Taiwan,...) were able to weather the storm, but the corrupt, brutal monarchy in Iran was not?
For a short answer: just take a look at who was in charge of the country. Just one example for today shall suffice ; Sharif Emami, who became a PRIME MINISTER during a most crucial period in Iran. His entire 'qualification' was nothing above a technician. Imagine a mere technician in charge of a country of 35 million people, and not surprisingly he failed. Of course he's only just one instance of tens and hundreds of unqualified, corrupt people who drove Iran into hands of a theocracy.
Amir: Homework
by alimostofi on Sun Feb 19, 2012 05:46 AM PSTAmir: Homework required.
Please read this:
//www.wtrg.com/prices.htm
The main reason for the existence of Hezbollahis, was and is, to keep the price of oil high. High enough to make expensive oil wells profitable. The other reason, is to keep arms sales industry profitable.
Shahanshah did both for a while, but he changed. Iran had expanded production of oil and its derivatives, the west worried about loss of control and business. The Shah told the US to leave the area once he had enough weapons. The rest you know.
Democracy is the new religion. We had Gosineshi in Zend Avesta. Not one word in the video about that or Free Will. That is what you need to win the moral argument. Cyrus followed Zend Avesta. The Royal Institution needs to do some homework.
Simple.

Regarding the video....
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Sat Feb 18, 2012 03:16 PM PSTOne piece of refuted misinformation portrayed by the video's is that it was the shah that resisted bringing down the price of oil, it is well known that he was doing the bidding of the USA. It was the president of the USA that wanted oil prices up, and it was Nixons foreign Secretary Kissinger that traveled to Saudi Arabia and other countries to encourage them to support and not resist the US policy of High oil prices. All oil was traded in US dollars and the USA wanted to strengthen the dollar. By using the Shah to do their bidding (based on having a pact with Iran in exchange for defense sales, and an alliance with the USA, which the USA totally betrayed) and creating protest against their own high oil policy (disingenuousy blamed on shah) which benefitted them by being able to print dollars and send their inflation to other countries, they managed to convince people that oil prices were the reason they removed shah and supported extremist mullahs. The real reason is very different and this ploy is a provable lie. Reality is that extremism prevents both political and economic development and sends peoples education and development backwards. This was and is the primary goal of the USA/UK/France they wish to be the complete owners of the oil using this type of domination, through this policy of destroying Iran and suppressing its development through manipulation they have succeeded in helping steal the middle easts wealth, however they are in the process of losing their gains to the Russians and Chinese unless they are preapared to go to WW3 and try and steal it out of the Russ/Chinese hands where it is for now.
The Freedom and Democracy For Iranians doesn't matter a damn to the USA/UK/France, when they fight for Iran oil, they will certainly say and allude to that in order to win domestic support (sell their own people to kill for oil), but hopefully for Iranians that manipulation is not going to work the way it did in the 1970's after we experienced 1979 and see what they are doing in all their policies promoting extremism from libya to china. God Bless Innocent Iranian Children who suffer the crimes and injustices of the west and their own gutless parents (by Iranian standards) who betrayed both king and country in 1979 and fell head first into the USA's manipulation.
