Quotes:

"He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have."

Socrates, in his far reaching insight wishing to help make anti-pahlavis and antimonarchists think.

"Democracy passes into despotism." "Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty."

Plato on observation of the truth which any objective person would agree with by seeing the USA/Brazil/France Today.

Democracy becomes a government of bullies tempered by editors.   Ralph Waldo Emerson on the true creation of multiple despots, tyrants and dictators who break the law and choose their partners not out of their virtue but based on their political power.

Democracy in practice substitutes election by the incompetent many, for appointment by the corrupt few.

GEORGE BERNARD SHAW on the reality of the greater corruption in democracies.

The Philosophers and thinkers of the past were correct on their observation of the truth, even though they have been contradicted by many self serving politicians and celebrities of every age.

My Question is, do we Iranians only want democracy for Iran?

Or can we do the heavy thinking for ourselves instead of letting the Main Stream Media Do the thinking for us?

Reconsider 1979 when Iranians United in performing a coup against themselves first and foremost and did a perfect job of accomplishing the tyranny, despotism/dictatorship any thinker can clearly see is the only outcome possible in the pursuit of democracy.

Lets use this blog to think out loud and see if we can list the the tangeable benefits of a Free & Democratic Secular Constitutional Monarchy as opposed to just pursuing Democracy for Iran.

Secular Constitutional Monarchy is a wise option to preserve freedom, justice, democracy & religion For Iranians.
Though don't expect the Main Stream Media in the Hands of Multinationals and Oil Companies to educate you as to why it serves Iranians better than other forms of government.

So the mullahs were right these guys are not planning on leaving.  It's really hard to predict what will truly happen but the general trend has been disasterous for the people living there with no bright sign, sometimes I wish Iran didn't have the second largest natural gas deposit in the world.

And then I am reminded that because of the gas, there are others that wish Iran did not have it also which is the real and only reason for the desire of creation of Arabistan.  The US Logic today is still imperialsim and no power can stop the greed that gives rise to it.  Wanting and having the possibilty to do it are 2 different things, but having the mullahs in power it makes it very easy for them to make the case to their own public.  I wish that their decline in power in the world will make that goal impossible for the usa and its alliies, taking resources cheap using imperialism is a crime against humanity. The West wishes to make Iran the next Africa.

No money is going to put an damper on the empire. Iran will inherit the Eastern Iraq and Northern Afghanistan and Bernie may not do jack to stop it.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

VPK/ Vildemouse one final point and then you take over.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

People
do not generally understand that democracy does not mean freedom,
liberty and equality, freedom to worship as we wish, freedom to work and
trade, travel and speak out and have better lives. Freedom is not an
inherent trait of democracy. Note the map to the right. It shows that
all but eleven nations consider themselves as having democratic
governments.   Governments that do not claim to be democratic are in red.
These governments are: Swaziland, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, Bhutan, Brunei,
Oman, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Vatican City.
(//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy)
The next map shows how much freedom is enjoyed in each nation. This
map reflects the findings of Freedom House's survey "Freedom in the
World 2007," which reports the state of world freedom in 2006. It is one
of the most widely used measures of democracy by researchers.  (www.freedomhouse

.org/template.cfmpage372)

Countries considered free are in green, countries considered to be
partly free are in orange, those considered not to have freedom, that
is, to have no or very little freedom are pictured in red. Note that
over half of the democracies of the world have what is considered to
be no freedom in their lives. In fact, any type of government can be
oppressive and be a police state. You can have a democracy that is as
ugly, repulsive and corrupt as an oppressive dictatorship.

Frredom was the central goal and purpose of Cyrus the Great and many other Kings after him.  However, with constituional monarchies what is interesting is we see the least oppression in them and 7 out of the top 10 most free and democratic countries in the world.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

Think about the world right now and the difference between how

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

constitutional monarchies handle their peoples affairs and how the American republic handles its.

Then read this:

Benjamin Franklin once wrote, "When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."

It should be a self-evident fact that governments cannot spend, spend,
spend their way into prosperity and a beautiful new future. But they
can, most certainly, spend their way into poverty and hardship; or,
literally, mortgaged the future and make future generations pay for
their foolhardy mistakes. This short-sighted, "I want it now" way of handing things is one of the major drawbacks of democracy.

Look at the European monarchies today and while having the best social systems have no deficit lke the USA.  It becomes crystal clear why Countries like America end up starting wars, to increase manufacturing and get out of their economic mismanagement difficulties.  In comparison republics are more corrupt as the safe guards are not there like they are in the case of an unelected royal patriotic family like in a secular democratic constitutional monarchy provides for a country.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

BTW The good points on the problems with democracy

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

are not
with the idea that it should be eliminated, but rather that more checks
and balances would tame it and direct it in a more positive direction.
Monarchy and democracy together works far better than democracy alone.  When we look atcases this becomes glaringly obvious and so with a country like Iran with such a Rich History it just makes sense to consider how we can use our natural asset of monarchy wisely.

Lets not forget the truths that History teaches us in the last 2 centuries for the entire world.  From the past, we learn that in the 19th Century dominated by emperors, kings and princes, there were about 40 million unnatural deaths or about 1 out of every 108 people died as a result of the actions of their countries. However, in the 20th Century dominated by democratic countries, 185 million died. That means about 1 out of every 22
human deaths were a result of their government's misguided decisions.
In other words, democracies are almost 5 times worse than the much
better and more humane record of the kings. The 19th century monarchs
had battlefield deaths amounting to about 45 million compared to democracies 101 million casualties from various wars. Hence, democracy caused 2 times more battlefield deaths than monarchy.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

One more for us to look at objectively.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

Mayer and Sigelman found that “other
factors being equal, in monarchies, interpersonal trust was significantly
higher, per capita wealth was considerably greater, income was
significantly less concentrated, and the political system [was]
significantly more democratic”
than in non-monarchies. No wonder European countries do so much to protect, constitutional monarchies, the secret behind their magic.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

Here's a good one. In light of this new century.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

The Monarch’s power, in short, is to deny power to anyone else. Any
attempt to tamper with the royal prerogative must be firmly resisted
[because it provides a most important safeguard].

In
other words, the existence of a monarch with such powers is a guarantee
of continuity. It is a mainstay of peace and security in a country. A
former editor of The Times, Roger Stott MP in The Independent on September 7, 1997 summed it up very well when he wrote, “I am
personally . . . convinced that there are safeguards in the
constitutional monarchy that an elected head of state just would not
possess.

When I compare the USA with its junior partner the UK, George Bush vs Blair I see this point clearly, Blair could have never lead such an effort had the USA not done it and he never had the powers to create something like the Patriot Act etc etc.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

Lets see who can come up with best tangeable benefits of a

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

Constitutional Monarchy.

One
of the greatest contributions constitutional monarchy could provide is
an important check against the ruthless ambition of partisan politics,
including the corrupting influence of powerful interest groups,
corporations that want a change in regulations, lobbyists bearing gifts
or, in effect, bribes, fund raising for extremely extravagant and lavish
re-election campaigns, the furthering of personal business interests or
enriching oneself through various questionable means while in office.
Such are the temptations that beset and can so easily corrupt a
short-sighted elected president or politician who only has a short time
to take advantage of the highest office of State.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

I found a great quote, so many to choose from.....

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

Anatole France, a winner of the Nobel Prize, stated, “For every monarch overthrown, the sky becomes less brilliant [less glorious and beautiful], because it loses a star”–a powerful force for good.

Certainly the truth for Iran, I would add a force for Peace in addition in Shahs case, to go from Aryamehr to Khomeini.

Here is more nonsense from Bernie hoping to scare Israel. This man is evil and wants trouble:

If he gets his way there will be a disaster that makes the others seem child play. People like him should be locked up in mental wards. Not given professorships. Or made advisers to heads of state. Does he really want the whole region from Israel to India turned waste? Because that is what will happen if he is taken seriously.

What a secular democratic constitutional monarchy can do for us?

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

That was a long rabbitt trail we went down LOL.

lets think of a few here the more tangeable the better.

  • an impartial symbolic Head of State above politics, commercial and factional interests
  • a focus for national unity, national awards and honours and national institutions
  • a Head of State whom we share with 16 other regions like uzbekestan/afghanista because she/he is their Queen/king too and that links us all
    together amazingly and most valuably
  • the centrepiece of colourful non-political ceremonial and national celebrations
  • separate from the Head of Government (the Prime Minister),
unlike in some countries where the two are combined, often with
    difficulty
  • able to give impartial non-political support to the work of a
wide range of different types of organizations, faiths, charities,
    artists, craftsmen etc
  • a Head of State completely under the democratic control of
Parliament but not having to change every few years in divisive
    elections
  • at the head of a Royal Family who can share the duties and represent the King/Queen
  • a constant, lasting symbolic head of the country with links
back through our whole history and assured lines of continuity into
    the future/stability/balance
  • a worldwide well-known and respected symbol of our country carrying out State Visits and goodwill tours in other countries

LOOK WHAT I FOUND!

He may groom people but they won't be able to do what he does. It takes a particular mix of knowledge and evil to be him. Doubt if anyone will be able to take his place in infamy.

What is a shame is people put their mind to that kind of thing. He might have been able to do great good as Richard Frey did but chose not to.

  • We pay a lot of taxes in America: Federal income; State income; sales; car; property; social security. But get next to nothing for it. When they are added up we pay as much as England. We get the Iraq war for it!
  • Bernie is 95 years old right? Is he planning to retire? Maybe he just has to stick around to do as much damage as possible. It is amazing how he keeps going like the energizer bunny.
  • We are never going to know what Shah would have accomplished. Yes I would not be surprised if he had given us all he promised. He did want an Iran worthy of being the jewel of the region.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

"My goal in the next decade is to be able to provide in addition to the free eduction provided, free health care to all and a home and retirement income to all of irans elderly in the twighlight of their lives." Quoted in 1976, free health care would have started in late 1982. For a man that always accomplished what he said in less time.

It's not conscionable to me for each person to NOT have

access to good choices for health care/medicines etc. and for free and access to a living wage when they are not able to work at old age.  Yes we pay ridiculous taxes here, 20% vat and 100% on fuel, but justice and freedom from injustice come at a price.

By the way I live in England ...

That explains your point of view then. I agree England is far more just. America is not just and you need to lie to survive. That is maybe the basis for differences. I see "West" as American I see the cheating and lying first hand.

You and those who live in Europe {UK included} are in a more just place. Where your retirement; health care and other "benefits" are more safe. In the USA we get nothing. It is becoming the "Wild West". Honestly I think many Americans long for the old days. Give them a horse; a gun and let them on their own. They don't want a safety net. Without it you are not secure. Without security people will lie to survive. That probably explains the difference of IC posters in Europe than me.

VPK the 1.5 trillion dollar deficit has so far kept the USA in

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

its powerful position, being the worlds reserve currency means they can print money at no cost and cotinue doing this for awhile, the inflation will be a problem, eventually they can easily resolve it all by opening drilling for oil in the usa and slowly depressing the world markets prices by pumping 20 million barrels to cover all their domestic needs, but for now they don't want to go that far.  In 5 years they'll have to do it, also this will help with US and global growth. The US is still strong and has viable options.

If oil was back to $30 a barrel there would be a recovery in 2 years, for now this mess is entirely Carters & big oils policy, but no one speaks about it, since no plan for a change is in the horizon.  Infact the media lies to people to get them angry and insist on pay raises, which would also help the future of the US market.  They don't tell them the surplus of 6 trillion dollars the banks lent people which blew a $45 trillion dollar hole in the financial industry came from oil policy, so now they are stuck in a hole with banks they can't let fail and also are too big to save.

VPK For the record...

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

I do believe that democratic principle is essential for the future of
Iran, because of the reason we have created a lying culture and that hurts us, democracy does cure that over time.  Democracys like secular
democratic constitutional monarchys tend to produce the wisest societies
where people have greater integrity. I do not buy that everyone lies
in the same amounts, too much social research refutes that.  By the way I live in England the county Bernie works for. : (  but it is far more just than the USA for the people who live here.

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

Amirparviz

I do not mean to be nosy but am curious which country you live in. Because those of us in America are well aware the party is over. No ten years; no five years; it is now. The money has run out.

For the first time in its history US rating was downgraded. This went fairly without notice but it actually giant news. Sort of like when the dome of Ctesiphon palace cracked and Sassanids were too busy infighting to care:

//www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-08-06/u-s-credi...

It means it will cost America more to borrow. There is non stop fighting over raising  debt limit. Money has dried up and no one is giving in. The elderly are numerous and powerful: they vote.

It will be between their medicare; social security and Bernie and his plan. I bet you that Bernie will lose. His biggest victim: Israel. They should make a deal with the Arabs now from a position of power. Because it won't last forever.

We are watching a huge transition of power centers. Something as big as WWII but without the all out war. Once the USA power is gone watch for:

  • China takes Taiwan
  • Serbia takes Kosovo
  • God knows what happens in Middle East.

As much as I hate the IRI not sure this is the best time to destabilize it.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

Long term you are right.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

No power has its resources guaranteed as it always has a competitor.  The only problems that arise are out of peace agreements between big powers and their interests vs strengths.  Russia and china's rise means bernies plan could be catastrophic for all the big powers.  He was too narrow minded and too ambitious to see the pitfalls of his work, it was based on US invincibility and that myth will be challenged once the world realizes the USA is in trouble for the next decade and can not use llimitless resources to maintain its hedgemony.  But for now USA is still very powerful.

Iraq and Afghanistan was bernies plan and an example of the folly of gradeur, these policies symbolize the pride before the fall.

It doesn't take a genius to see the high likelyhood of greater than 50 % of a dangerous US decline relative to the rise of both east and russia.  The other thing is if putin actually comes back to power that will mean the russians are prepared to do what ever it takes to counter the USA in the M.E. and georgia as he was the true architect of that policy against the USA in favor of Iran.  Eventually Putins team will have to betray mullahs though, because the source of power in iran doesn't like them.

The top russian experts will side with who ever they feel has the  most power among people in Iran, they don't care 2 cents for ideology they will go for whoever is the strongest as they can not afford to lose iran, so likely a mix between secular shia & nationalists.  Those are for now the most powerful forces and ironically the only non radical group in those is the clergy, who also happen to know and have concerns about democracy on its own and therefore mostly want a democratic secular constitutional monarchy.  Both Secular Shia & Nationalists have a majority that are united on having a democratic secular constitutional monarchy.  Though I'm not sure which is stronger nationalists or Secular clergy. So despite US games long term may be with us.

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

Borders are made to be violated hence Bernie will fail. For the sake of argument say his plan does go through. Before long America will be out of ME. Once that happens nothing is to prevent Iran from retaking the areas.

Specially once oil becomes obsolte and it will become. I think in our lifetime. Just read history and see how frequently borders had changed. Not long ago there was an Iron Wall. Much of Iran was a part of the Soviet Union. Now it is all history; no more of it. Germany is reunited. I don't know what is going to happen. We tend to see things in 30-60 year terms. Because that is our average adult lifespan.  But in reality history moves at a different pace.

Right now Iran has more power in Iraq than it had for centuries. This is not going to decrease; it will increase. Bernie may plan all he wants but he is gonna be gone like all other people. The best laid plans of mice and men ....

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

VPK USA isn't doing it on logic, but its previous strength

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

It's outcome is truly in gods hands and it is now underway, the pain and humiliation we have received so far from people we did nothing to, I wish this will come to an end soon.  The issue of this policy of 1) militarism 2) extremism/groups you can't have dialogue and negotiations with 3) alliances 4) imperialism these 4 elements were the root cause of every major power change in history including the colonial era and ww1 & 2, so global experts say it will fail guaranteed.

The big thing we don't know is the extent of the secret alliance of iran with russia / china.  They may break the UN rules, like nato did and arm the mullahs with what ever they need to alter US goals as a break up of iran is aimed directly at them in terms of future power. They fully support a united iran which gives them 80% of oil $ and gives up control of its caspian rights.

One reason to not implement Bernie's plan is what Maziar said. If it goes through who is going to be to "boogie man". With Iran relatively powerful Arabs are scared. It means they will buy American 2nd rate junk weapons.

But if they do the Bernie thing then what will scare the Arabs. It would be bad for business of arms. It benefits USA to keep a scary Iran with or without IRI. An expansionist Iran is the best gift to American arms dealers.

Why kill the goose that lays the golden egg now. A pacified weakened Iran is the last thing for them. I am betting on a nationalist expansionist Iran to scare the pants off the Arabs. Then they will line up to buy whatever *** Americans will sell them.

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

You may have it right on the US plans but I bet they will go awry. Another possibility is that Eastern Iraq will join with Iran. Bahraini people already hate the Sauidi for their intervention. They will side with Shia Iran over Saudi.

The renaming of Persian Gulf was in the works by decades. I think USA is going to blow it again. With the most likely result being an expanded Iran. With serious influence over must of the region now Iraq. USA does not know where its head is from a hole in the ground. Day by day they anger the Arab population. Wait for their veto of Palestine then watch how popular Iran becomes. Arabs will gladly pick Iran over USA puppets. I am saying this as an opponent of IRI but a realist.

We all know about Bernie and his Israel centeric map. He will fail and take his plans to *** with him.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

VPK MAZIAR On US Plans for region With the weapons in Arab hands

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

USA will not militarily itself attack Iran.

Its goal is to weaken regime, replace it with other mullahs and then use those weapons to create arabistan.  To the east it has alreasy succeeded in creating a civil war within Pakistan/Afghanistan which we don't hear about on the news and baluchi sepratists are already fighting and killing pakistani soldiers every month.  Here is the map they are working to produce.

//www.daanspeak.com/IranAttackBernardLewisMap...

The real arabistan will include iran, kuwait, part of saudi arabia up to and including bahrain. Shaped like a horse shoe. That is also the basis for naming the persian gulf in the future the arabian gulf as most of its coast will be held by arabistan.  The North is relatively quiet for now.
