One is outrageously proud

The other is humble

when she feels glad or confident

she reaches for stars

on top of that pompous ladder of pride

But when she gets the blues

she visits not the ocean not the gulf

not even the mighty river

But the tiny pond in middle of her western town

with enough water to dampen her sorrow.
