First I am sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. For my sins I have to work from time to time :) - life is tough even for us the lackeys of the Brits!   To be honest with you I am not sure whether I was joking or if I was serious. My comment should be measured against the comments by the extremist Mossadegh worshippers like Professor Masoud Kazemzadeh or Ms Amini. So please take my remark with a little pinch of salt but not too much :) Having said that. no one in my book is a saint or a sinner. These are titles we give to our fellow humans to justify our canonising or demonizing them. But as for the comparsion between Mossadegh and Kianouri, I must admit if I were to trust one that would have been Kianouri. In his entire life Kianouri did not switch sides or change his ideology. I m afraid I can't say the same for the good Dr.   With kind respect   Anglo

Are you serious anglophile ? You must be joking! right?

by Soosan Khanoom on

Show me one thing Keyanouri did that even qualifies him to be compared with Mossadegh?

With all due respect, I have hard time understanding the logic of the anti-Mossadgeh people on this site!!

Compared to Mossadegh, Kianouri was a Saint.

by anglophile on

He saw common interests between Iran and those of the USSR. That was fine.  Mossadegh saw nothing in common between his personal interests and those of Iran. He put his interests first. That was foul.   Great piece Anahid.   ps - Sheikh Fazlollah's other grand (grand) son, is today's Iranian of the Day.     //iranian.com/main/2012/mar/vali-r-nasr-johns-hopkins-university-dean   Mashallah beh inhameh zaado valad!

Thanks Arj and Arash for your comments

Arj, not that I am saying my satire is good but a well written satire does not have to be vulgar. I think just like in many other artforms, frequently, vulgarity in satire compensates for the lack of talent of writer. There are times a story or poem may require use of some vulgar words but subject matter should require that and even then, somehow in many writing pieces, use of vulgar worlds takes  a reader out of artistic framework of mind.

Arash, thanks for your input.

Where is red meat!

by Arj on

Dear AH, this is not vulgar enough! In order to get the lumpen crowd stirred up to cheer you on, you need to throw them some red meat! Some fohsh-e khahar-o madar, or at least zan-o bacheh... :D)
