This is pretty funny. Contrary to most "reporting" on The Daily Show which is done is studio, this time, they have actually sent Jason Jones, their correspondent to Iran to report in person on the Iranian elections.

Jason Jones in Tehran
by Maria (not verified) on Sat Jun 13, 2009 08:27 PM PDTRoshanbeen, It may not be obvious to you, but sending Jason Jones as a correspondent is a way of mocking the way U.S. news organizations cover foreign affairs. It's making fun of the the fact that usually someone who knows very little about a culture and does not speak the language is sent to report on important world events. The resulting coverage can be full of misinformation and stereotypes, such as that Iranians are always "angry" and that Ahmadinejad's speech is always about fighting Zionism, etc. A standard line used in this kind of coverage is: "the real winners in this election are the [fill in the blank] people." I found this piece hilarious because Jason Jones gets the ignorant American reporter down pat. It's an ironic piece making fun of American media mainly, not the Iranian election.
ABEROO REEZEEE!!
by ali56 (not verified) on Fri Jun 12, 2009 10:20 AM PDTlook at the khalagh seeyah who used to wear a 4 inch minijoop before the mullahs took over.....
compare iran when shahbanoo was our first lady to now....it seems that all the abdarchees and hendooneh foroosh took over the country.....that's not what iran is about!
I like Jon stewart's sense of humor
by Roshanbeen (not verified) on Fri Jun 12, 2009 10:03 AM PDTBut who let that idiot Jason jones who clearly was not corresponding for a comedy show but rather had totaly different agenda, to smear Iranians and their leader evenmore, under the guise of comedy.
Not my favorite Jon Stewart moment...
