Look at picture number 7 in these series. It's a police officer who has apparently joined the people, and is being carried on their shoulders.

by Anonymous Observer on Tue Dec 29, 2009 07:32 AM PSTSo I guess you were (are) also against the 1979 revolution? Yes? Because that was the mother of all civil disorders.
And as far as the hat being photoshoped, what about the rest of the photo? And from what I have seen, people were much nicer to the regime's armed thugs than the thugs were to them. They were giving them refuge and saving them from the more extreme elements.
It's more than likely a fake
by Sargord Pirouz on Tue Dec 29, 2009 03:27 AM PSTSorry to break the news, but the green hat on the IRI SF trooper is most likely photoshopped. I've reviewed all the available photos and videos of this incident, and this specific policemen isn't wearing a hat in any of them.
Other members of his detachment, such as the Sotvan Yekom, were badly beaten by the protesters.
Perhaps this trooper behaved in a way that he was spared? The photo can't tell us that much.
Mehrdad: I voted Green in the June election. But I abhor civil disorder. And I'm mainstream, not a radical.

trooper, officer or what ever. Iranian people will celebrate their defection and joining the movement. It is not too late for even sargords to join the people.

context
by Sargord Pirouz on Mon Dec 28, 2009 07:58 PM PSTThat appears to be one of the motorized IRIPF SF troopers that was previously contained and trapped against a doorway (of which there are many photos and videos available).
The First Lieutenant of this detachment wasn't this lucky.

I hope there is a mutiny or more police officers join the people!
