I think we are taking this issue way too seriously,. Not that i do not appreciate for Mehrdad for bringing it to our attention, but We are being too paranoid about it. You know, We have been doing our thing and they have been doing theirs. The "flagging" option has been used more frequently that should have been , and still beats out all other options to keep the Jerks away. so USE IT:)))

Let's Not immitate those "other" websites. Let's maintain our originality and our way of doing things. Using the options available to us to keep trouble away wisely, is enough to keep us policing the site they way we should.

Suggestion to increase viewership

Like David ET said, implementing features similar to some features on facebook and other successful sites can increase viewership dramatically.

For example, how about adding a 'like' or 'positive' option for every blog and comment? similar to facebook, balatarin or digg ... so that users can give thumbs up to quality material.

These guys all had blockage problem except this latest re-intarnation as boycott guy who JJJ is letting spam the site at will.  Oh well.  I couldn't trace alirezag to his previous ID.

Sorry Yolanda and Anahid, I still didn't get who is CA.

But maybe he is the same person as I have guessed. For sure, this person is not an IRI supporter. Simply because:

1) The IRI supporter mebers of the site wish the site be runing as always so they can come here to state their opinions and oppose the opposition

2) The IRI supporter not-membes of the site, don't really care about what's going on in this site! There are so many other Iranian sites which are much more anti-IRI.

Dear Bavafa, I second your pledge (or is it third) because we really have to stop this mentality in some Iranians to be like little dictators. It is bad enough that we have IRI, now in Diaspora, we have got some people acting like little dictators and trying to get away with it.

So Souri, you think it is ca? You offered some good reasons why you think it is ca. I think sometimes it actually has opposite effect of what the spammer wants. Like this morning, I was busy and I did not have time to comment but I did it since the spammer had just been active, just to show that we are not going to let some coward dictate to us our online activities.

I think we all need to keep in mind

That the danger is not really in anyway posed by this couple of have-nothing-better-to-do folks that may have a beef with JJ or the rest of us that like to speak what we believe. The true khak o khasahak (if that was the term) are these people for trying to shut other's voices.

But if we really stop for a second and think about what IC has provided us, a venue that does not exist in Iran and many other places in the world and are getting fewer and fewer in US, then we can truly appreciate it. Most if not all other forums even in US are leaning one way or the other and there are definitely subjects that are getting harder and harder to talk about, namely Israel, whereas IC has remained relatively free and open and for that JJ has my gratitude.

In any case, I followed up with my pledge and I hope you do if you are in a situation that can afford it.

But I didn't have to scratch my head for too long, to guess who is this spamer!

He is not an IRI supporter, as he is pretending.

Just try to think and remember who is the person who hate this site and has  issues with JJ.

That paranoid spammer who writes long articles and have been blocked 100 times but always come back with another user name to say the same BS.

Just ignore him.

I really hope that one day IC will undergo a major overhaul. I really don't like it when one can register and presto, she can do all sorts of things. You might find my opinion exclusionist, elitist, this ist, that ist, or even Bolshevist; which is fine. I respect your view as long as you are not a SPAMist.

Taking this chance to advise JJ !!!

To keep IC with times, it must soon have features beyond blog where people can initiate short status in few words and sentences (such as FACEBOOK and TWITTER), forming groups etc. (A Social Network)

IC is not as live as present times require and by looking at number of Iranians on facebook, you can notice that facebook is now a major competition. 

This is what myspace found out and did but by then it was too late and lost so much of its market and unable to get them back...
