I am disturbed by the raw violence every time the Koran is burned or an image of Mohammad is drawn is a newspaper. This time angry Afghani protestors entered a UN compound, killing 7 of its staff. If they did it to stop the burning of the Koran, they will probably encourage the extremists in the West, such as Terry Jones and Wayne Sapp, even more to set alight the Islamic symbols.

 

When Mohammad marched on Mecca after his exile in Medina, he demolished all statutes and symbols of the Arab gods and goddesses. He condemned the worshiping of symbols, and made the Ka’ba a place of prayers for his disciples, but he was careful never to make it an excessive symbol of God or the religion. But the extremists Muslims of today have made the person of Mohammad or the Koran extravagant symbols of their religion. Any criticism of Mohammad or Islam is considered an affront and a ticket for a violent response.

Is it ever that killing an innocent human being is not an act of savagery?

I believe once any killing of innocent human being is justified then we are on a slippery slope and will be hard pressed to defend one and condone another.

I also think it is very important to condemn the act of instigating such behavior just as we are condemning the retaliatory act while I agree and distinguish the magnitude of each to be of a much different caliber.

Common sense is not all that common" It would seem to me that..if this "Rev" has been asked by a US Army General not to do this, and he waits, and then does it, seems like incitement to me. .............. Why is he putting our troops in jeopardy? This "Rev" is an insult to Christianity..

There are extremist in EVERY religion. when you people get that??? just like this man is an extremist in his religious beliefs

Having said that  I think the people responsible for this are the animals who killed the UN workers.

By the way ......

Terry Jones church is loosing its members with the speed of light ......

I will , however , let him know that he has plenty followers here on IC.......  Iranians never fail to astonish the world one way or another. They are pioneer in extremism .......  you GO  kaveh .......... you certainly making all of us proud !!!!!!

The initial problem was the advocacy of the meek minded who claimed burning this hate manual would indeed provoke criminal responses by its fanatic followers. This argument implicitly claimed that any criticism or symbolic desecration of this hate manual should be tabooed because of the potential criminal response, but this is not tolerable in a free society.

Now that the 'jeannie is out of the box', a massive shock therapy should be the order for all Islamic criminals. For every death related to their savagery, thousands of Koran burning events, and other symbolic Islam-criticism acts, should be held across the globe to impress the point that nothing is beyond criticism for the free world. Therefore, the anniversary of all Islamic murder dates should be declared a global Koran burning day.
