I had forgotten that Landis had directed the BLUES BROTHERS ...

But I can't get over the fact that he was given the Highest French Order of Arts : Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres

I always wondered how easily these medals are pinned on some artists and not others who are striving hard to make masterpieces ...

But well ... He is a Good BS and THAT is Important when you want to sell your film ... LOL

Michael Jackson was directed by John Landis, who also directed Vic Morrow (Combat!) in one of the segments of the movie version of the Twilight Zone, during which Morrow died in a freak accident due to a helicopter malfunction, leaving his young daughter Jennifer Jason Leigh (High Times at Ridgemont High) fatherless, although her mom screenwriter Barbara Turner (Pollock) had raised her with her second husband director Reza Badiyi who once gave a spot to Behrouz Voussoughi on Falcon Crest, one of the many TV shows he directed.

By the way, John Landis directed THE BEST COMEDY OF ALL TIME, Trading Places, so go easy on the guy :)

Thriller Changed The Video Clip Art

Very True. I remember how excited I was when I saw Thriller for the First TIme. Truly a Gem especially with Vincent PRICE's intro.

I think it must have even influenced the still unknown aspiring director Tim Burton for his movies like Sleepy Hollow or Edward Scissorhands. I can't wait to See Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland.

But Thiller is probably director John LANDIS best Work cause otherwise he is such a dreadful director. He directed Michelle Pfeiffer and Jeff Goldblum in the film INTO THE NIGHT about a bunch of SAVAKI's Running after Them because they think they have stolen the CROWN JEWELS of PERSIA after the Islamic Revolution ( As if the Shah had stolen his Crown to Leave Iran ..). The film also had cameos of Celebrities each playing a SAVAKI. From David Bowie to Irene Papas ... The Film is A TOTAL EMBARASSMENT I CAN TELL YOU for Anyone who watches it ;0)

Here is a scene with Houshang Touzie as a Tehrangeles SAVAKI and David Bowie trying to threaten Jeff Goldblum :
