Flying Footwear – Shoeicide is here to stay

First Bush, then the Chinese Premier, then Indian politician and now Israeli Ambassador. Shoeicide is here to stay. Let’s look at the recent history of this mega missile that is creating waves around the world. Just shows, political standards have come down. Supposed crowning heads have become targets for flying footwear. There is lot of sole-searching to be done.

On Mar 26, 2004, Colonel Qaddafi insulted Tony Blair by pointing his shoe sole towards Blair.

Everybody wants their piece of cake (fun). It is an epidemic surely but slowly catching on. Is it an insult to the shoe or…? You decide.

Shoe throwing is an ancient art. Four scores and seven years ago Lincoln used to play throwing shoes, albeit horseshoes. Now ever since that Iraqi journalist threw his shoes there is talk of Show Throwing becoming an olympic event!

Iran's first prime minister after the 1979 revolution, Ali Rajai who was later killed in a bomb blast, took his shoes out in UN's general assembly meeting in 1981 showing evidence of torture in Shah's prison system. He may have been tempted to throw them at the US Ambassador!
