by Sargord Pirouz on

Well it has a listing of at least 20. Plus there are links to pages with additions.

The medals I submitted were two foreign medals my grandfather received, plus an obverse pic of his Légion d'honneur.

OKtaby would do well to contribute a pic and description of his. But it's looking more and more that he was full of it. But, he could still prove me wrong.

Sargord that website has only 5 medals for Iran, count them 5, and which contributor are you? Anti-social?  Us?  It is you who keep "bragging" about Islamic Republic?  You who compare use of force to brutal crackdown of innocent young Iranians who closes his eyes on the torture of imprisoned Iranians.  Youhoo!

Everything is sacred

Here's the link to the medal site:

Here is the link to three (he had many more) of my grandfather's medals, including the French Légion d'honneur:

And here are the medals of my great grandfather:

Well OKtaby, there you are. I did it for you in spite of the antisocial-ness.

by Sargord Pirouz on

Whatever you guys. I contribute to a site dedicated to medals. I've contributed pics and descriptions of my grandfather and great grandfather's numerous Iranian decorations.

It sounds like OKyaby has one that isn't listed on the database. It would make for a meaningful contribution.

But instead, we get the usual antisocial nonsense, from the same batch of disgruntled exiles.

Oh well, that's to be expected. You folks are what y'are. OKtaby might even be full of hot air. Why else wouldn't he share the details of his supposed medal. Or maybe he's just not intelligent enough to upload a pic. Maybe he has one, maybe he doesn't.

BTW, Artesh Magazine has gone through a number of name changes, over the past 80 or so years. The name I gave was for what it was around this time period. But why I am educating you folks? You're not interested in being educated. Just being ignorant and antisocial.

This is really really funny, thank you all...

And I mean it, seriously...

At first, I thought the guy meant to say something, I was waiting for that clever twist in the story. But I didnt, now I really feel sorry for him. Most of us know of someone like him, living in a world of fantacy, I think the term is "walter mitty" type, but could be wrong on that.

but, never mind, back to real world, boss is walking over.....

Actually, OKtaby, this is a non-political interest. I assist an English woman's site which catalogs medals from around the world. If you could provide the exact name of the medal, what it was given for and a pic, it would be very helpful.

by oktaby on

Because I was good (:)

I was very disappointed that I would not get to meet him in person and probably at that early age (and without realizing it) I must have subconsciously decided that he was a no good 2 bit dictator and source of all problems and must be replaced by a scumbag whore of the west & east khomeini et al  :)

DK, I do not know specifics of this photo

by oktaby on

But it could be 'Medal e Ettelaat' type award that was given to 'momtaz' students in various age groups and regions by Shah and various government officials down to 'mantagheh/Hozeh' Modeer and not unique to family or military events. I was to receive one from Shah in mid 70's at a public place (Amjaddieh or some big indoor stadium I can't recall). My pix would have been similar to the kid in your picture; Shalvar pache goshad and all. A day or two before, we were informed Shah could not make it and medals were awarded by someone from Amoozesh va Parvaresh. I have a few of those and specifically Ettelaat medal in Blue and also in Green. There may have been other colors. maybe I'll post a picture some day.

SPink Jaan Thanks for your Feedback

by Darius Kadivar on

The magazine is Called "ARTESH" aka "Army" I believe published for the ground forces as a monthly or weekly magazine. I downloaded the photo on ebay long time ago but did not purchase it so I cannot really vouch for the exact circumstances.

Anyone who does or even has the name of the boy in the photo is welcome to share their info.

Appreciated,

DK

My guess is its a family military function, which includes awards ceremonies for children.

Specific magazine details would be helpful, or a source for the photo.
