by Darius Kadivar on Fri Jun 26, 2009 09:02 AM PDTWith Due respect to the directors who are young the settings and the costumes don't really fit.
I remember a film made on the same subject in the 1980's by a Canadian TV and it also had a hard time capturing the real thing on screen.
But I just want to encourage any director who makes a first attempt to bring this story on the Big Screen.
So many movies have been made on the Russian Tzar Nicholas II or French Emperor Napoleon and the first ones were not the most accurate or memorable.
Such Larger than Life Characters are never easy to portray.
Navid Negahban does seem to get his expressions right at times especially with the Thick Eyeglasses.
Got to see the film first before I could review it with objectivity.
Cheers,
DK
