Official Trailer  (With Orson Welles' voice) :

Plot:

The plot remains essentially the same as the novel during the first part, though some of the characterizations are based more closely on the script of the 1965 film. However, the ending is completely different. Another departure from Christie's text is that this time the action takes place not on a deserted island, but in a hotel deep within the Iranian desert.

A group of 10 people, strangers to one another, have all traveled to a hotel located deep in the deserts of Iran. Upon arrival they discover that their host is mysteriously absent. Though some find this odd, they decide to make the best of the situation and settle into the isolated-but-luxurious hotel. But soon they are accused by a tape recording of having committed various crimes in the past which went unpunished by the law. Then one victim dies of poisoning. Suicide? Maybe, maybe not. When someone else is found strangled to death, the remaining guests deduce that their unseen "host" is determined to murder them one at a time for their past misdeeds. And since a search of the hotel proves that there is no one hiding among them, they realize that the murderer is, in fact, one of their own.

Thanks for the Shiraz information. I did not know she spent her honeymoon in Shiraz or that she wrote a story there.  I will see if I can find it.  I learnt my English reading her books exclusively and I enjoyed them all.

Yes indeed the original title was Ten Little Niggers but because of the racial title it was changed to Ten Little Indians and finally to And then They Were None.

I recall seeing the original movie from the 1940's on Iranian TV before the revolution and the plot was so exciting.

This version was the only color version ever to be filmed and some of the original plot was changed because everyone new the story of this classic Agatha Christie.

I learned many years later thanks to a book my brother had in his library that Agatha Christie spent her honeymoon in Shiraz with his first husband an archeologist. She even wrote a short story called "The House in Shiraz".

Small world !

Warm Regards,

DK

Thank you for this post.

I have seen this play a number of times. If I am not mistaken this play was the longers running play in London. It ran for 29 or 30 years!? I am not sure if this still holds true. And wasn't the original name of this play "Ten Little Niggers?"
