Now, y'all
by Natalia Alvarado-Alvarez on Fri Jul 04, 2008 09:55 PM PDTI have lived in Texas since I was 3 years old. I love Texas. Yeehaw! However, I know it isn't perfect. In a perfect world there would be no crime....no suffering......no death
Now, I am not defending the deaths before someone accuses me of whatever
I just wanted y'all to remember that not all Texans carry a gun or have a vigilante mentality
baenaghe naghi does have a good question though. If it came down to killing or being killed, what would one do? Worse yet, what would one do to defend their family

PS: Also, not all Texans are cowboys or cowgirls. We don't all ride a horse, wear a hat or have an oil well in our backyards
:o)
America is Crazy as far as
by programmer craig on Thu Jul 03, 2008 11:40 PM PDTAmerica is Crazy as far as Gun Control is considered.
We like it just fine that way, though.
It is a shame
that this is something the US has not progressed on a single inch since
the Cowboy Days ...
The second amendment predates the cowboy days by quite a bit, so it's completely logical that we haven't "progressed" since then. Also, we like cowboys. And don't mess with Texas.
baenaghe naghi is correct when he says the US has a violent culture. It's always been that way. It may be due to the constant high rate of immigration, or it may be due to our history, I don't know.Maybe nobody does. But Europe is also becoming a very violent place. And that is something new, for them. I'll be interested to see how they deal with it. they may have to re-think both their lax justice systems and their gun control policies. Or maybe they'll just make like a Frenchman and surrender :P
I'd Choose Europe ...

america is a very violent
by baenaghe naghi (not verified) on Thu Jul 03, 2008 08:14 AM PDTamerica is a very violent society and if someone comes into your home without your permission the chances are that he is carrying a gun and he will kill you (either he is mentally sick or he does not want any witnesses). So knowing this, it is either you or he. Which one would you choose, darius jan.
