"Art belongs to Humanity," but the proceeds of art do not. The proceeds go into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries ONLY!
Thanks for Info.

by Mona 19 on Tue May 06, 2008 09:57 AM PDT...Thank You for correcting me.I came across an article which was written it's first time we have a Iranian Jury in The Canne Festival.I'll sue them for giving wrong info to their readers ;)))

Its not the first time Mona Jan ;0)
by Darius Kadivar on Tue May 06, 2008 06:26 AM PDTHi Mona Jan,
Satrapi was already a member of the Jury of Un Certain Regard three or four years ago and even designed the official poster of that category for the festival in 1997 I believe.
Iranian director Niki Karimi was also a Jury member two years ago. In anycase it is indeed a great thing to see fellow compatriots recognized for their achievements and in turn in a position to also acknowledge others.
Art belongs to Humanity and Cannes is certainly one of the major windows and magnifying glass on World Cinema at large.
VIVE LE CINEMA !
