The Rite is an American supernatural horror film based on MattBaglio's The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist, directed by Mikael Håfströmand written by Matt Baglio and Michael Petroni. It stars Anthony Hopkins as FatherLucas and focus’ on an American seminary student (Colin O'Donoghue) travels toItaly to take an exorcism course.

Plot:

Inspired by author Matt Baglio’s non fiction book of thesame name, director Mikael Håfström’s supernatural thriller traces the experiences of a young seminary student who discovers the true power of faithafter being drafted into the Vatican’s Exorcism School and confronted by the forces of darkness.
 Follows skeptical seminary student Michael Kovak (Colin O’Donoghue), who reluctantly attends exorcism school at the Vatican. While he’s in Rome, Michael meets an unorthodox priest, Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins),who introduces him to the darker side of his faith, uncovering the devil’s reach even to one of the holiest places on Earth.
