Iranian.com banned in France?!

Got a first hand information that Iranian.com was banned in Nice, France last month! Anyone has any idea why?

        I thought France is birth place of freedom etc! Do they have freedom of speech "ova there"?!

        I wonder if JJ knows about this. Basically if you try to go to the page another page comes up and mentions that the page is filtered by government! It is shocking to see such thing in Europe. What is the motive behind it?

fact: iranian.com is up and running in paris.

i didn't check every city in france, but at least we know that it's not banned in france.  do you have only one source in nice that says he can't access iranian.com?  if so, maybe his computer got corrupt like the iranian government.

Fact from fiction!

         Lets keep facts from fiction:

    FACTS:

    -- Iranian.com web site was blocked in Nice, France when an attempt was made to access it from a pc on the lobby of a hotel last month. There is no if or but about this.

    Speculations: either

    -- filter was enforced by Sarko gov.

    -- filter was enforced by a local authority

     -- filter was enforced by hotel management 

   From the note appearing on the monitor after block it seemed it was filtered by someone other than hotel management.

 So take it for whatever its worth. That's all folks! After all I am not claiming to have witnessed a virgin birth and try to start a religion all over! ;-)

Hi,

I confim Iranian.com can be accessed from Paris. Nice is not known for any independancy request and I didn't see any article against Nice in Iranian.com making them angry. Nice is well known to be a rightist city and full of old people (beacause weather and high price). I don't see why Iranian.com could be banned there!

So somebody wanted make you a joke or you make us a joke. As we used to say in Iran : " Ya Anha shoma ro gereftehand ya shoma maro gerefti" :-)

Now, that one is true !

We have been in the chat room last night and saw that Mullah Omar couldn't log at all ! LooooooooooL

We did report it to JJ and Admin who were also in the chat room. Maybe this is related to the IC's security and defense system?

     My info was specific to Nice, France. It has happened while trying to access the Iranian site in a hotel. The note seemingly pointed to a general/gov. ban as opposed to one implemented by the hotel management. 

It's a good time to visit Riviera! Any takers? :) specially those in Paris....

Someone complained they can not access the site from their cave either! I recommend to flush your toilet may be that solves the issue! Are you on a cable or dial up in there?! :-)

I just had a text message from Afghanistan's Ex President  Mullah Omar. He said last night in his summer cave, he was trying to access Iranian.com's Chat Room and he was blocked. Could Admin or JJ check on this problem please.

For now, we know at least three register members who live in France and post stuffs here on a daily base. They are : Redwine, Orang and Darius

But you are talking about Nice and not Paris.

That maybe just a little bug or a local problem created by a person or a group of person in a little local network area (?)

      But guess what? It is true. 

      Do we have anyone of Iranian readers in France

      to verify/document this. 

      As for credibility/source, take my word for it. I mean what do you think, I got up the other day and said hey lets start this rumor?! :-) Come on folks...

Sarkozy is a creepy animal! May be he is behind this! This is really a shame. What could be more benign than Iranian.com. I think an official protest is in order. Where is the shame?!

Lets call this Anti-Persianism (not catchy as anti-semi!!). This is not just about a web sire. That shows French governmnet attitude toward Iranians in general. This from a country that hosts
the terror group MEK!
