Many people are now aware of the new plans to give the bloggers the control of their blogs and allow them to delete comments or block other users from their blogs. What many people are not aware of is that IC is already testing the idea in a sister website. I was given access to the site and here with JJ’s permission I include the comment section of one of the blogs. I think many contributors may find this of interest.

You can also write your own and post your comments there. Commmmmmmmpreeeeeehendo?

I was very disappointed with the responses to my blog with so many unrelated comments. If we cannot focus on a subject in a virtual space, how can we do that in reality? The subject of my blog was very clear, I proposed a simple and valid question that if a lizard, a rat and a chicken raced which one would win? There are so many factors affecting this, from the type of the ground, to presence of a cat in the vicinity. It could have been a good and very educational discussion but you guys turned it into another political mudslinging contest. You think everything has a political dimension. I am so disappointed, I am going to delete my blog : (

Thanks for reading. Well, this is a considerate blogger who provides a bit of feedback to those whose comments are deleted. I think despite occasional discussion about the issue, it has never been seriously on the agenda, but it now seems that it will be dished out in a few months.
COP geraami,
Thanks for reading. I am glad you found it funny.]
Dear VPK,
Good to see you here.
AO Aziz,
That was very funny and that poem was spot on :). How I could I miss such an important group? May be because I see them less these days as they are busy clapping for brother Bashar who is killing the Syrians and whatever Palestinians in Syria. I am glad you have added it.

what about the Zionists occupying Palestine and other Arab lands? AIPAC, Zionist, AIPAC, Zionist, AIPAC. Iranians are much better off today than people in Somalia for example. Let's boycott Israel. I am boycotting them right after I finish typing this comment on my Intel powered computer. I wrote a poem about Palestine the other day:
Palestine, Palestine, my love...
They keep complaining about human rights in Iran...
When you suffer under occupation...
The Zionists are taking your money...
And your women...
I love you Palestine...
Palestine, Palestine, Palestine...
Peace...

I was really against the comment remval idea. But [joking] I have second thoughts. In particular if you read the blog below you see how it moved off topic.

If I were the blog owner I would delete about 90% of the comments. They are off topic and do not in any way discuss the issue of the blog. Why do some people hijack blogs to their pet arguments. People if you got a peeve write your own blog!

by Esfand Aashena on Mon Oct 31, 2011 05:08 AM PDTThis was a funny blog but I thought the deleted comments would be gone with the wind and the blogger would not bother to say why it was deleted! Did you have to go through the i.com's trash bin to salvage these gems?!
On another note, I'm starting to think that JJJ is just teasing and trying to pit us against each other to debate this Freedom before Freedom of Speech concept which I outlined in more detail in this blog which was BTW belocked from further comments!
As we say in Farsi I think "he has put us on the job" and "my eyes does not eat any water" that we will ever see any changes, much less Comment Control!
I mean how hard it is to add a delete button to our blogs same as his? He has had his since 2007?! How long does it have to take?! The year is almost over and soon it'll be the first year anniversary of him promising this illusive delete button!

I agree with most your views and was very much against the idea. I
however have changed mind and think perhaps it is the next step for many of us
to tolerate others while we can choose to silence them. I think we just need to
wait and see it in practice.
I very much doubt it Divaneh
by fozolie on Sun Oct 30, 2011 09:50 AM PDTThe problem is the site needs moderation and JJ has never been a willing one. MPD Aziz,
I think your analysis is spot on and based on solid reasoning. That is one hell of super chicken.
Dear Rea,
Did you know the word "gullible" has been removed from the Oxford dictionary? It is a rare quality for one to be able to laugh at him/herself and a sign of strength of character. I also had a good laugh on your account if you don't mind. Thanks for your kind words and the link.

I think the chicken would win
by Multiple Personality Disorder on Sun Oct 30, 2011 12:07 AM PDTI think the chicken would win the race regardless of the filed condition. I think the chicken would peck the lizard on the head and eat him. And, the rat would get eaten by a cat. If there is no cat, the rat would seek shelter in the nearest hole he can find after seeing the lizard being killed by the chicken, and if the rat doesn't find a place to hide, I think the chicken would kill him with her claws.

This whole idea and your funny blog about it reminds of the time that one of my aunts gave some money to one of my older cousins and told him to take the rest of us, the younger cousins out and buy us some ice cream and keep us entertained. In other words, she put one juvenile delinquent in charge of a bunch of other juvenile delinquents!
The net result was that he bought us some sunflower seeds, kept the money, bought himself a double scoop of ice cream and we all got into a fight and rushed home and made a scene at my aunt's house!
