The Agents of Outrage (commentary)
by Esfand Aashena
14-Sep-2012

Yesterday I was watching CNN and there was an interview with an individual by the name of Bobby Ghosh who had written an article for the next issue of Time magazine entitled The Agents of Outrage:  Behind the Middle East's Anti-American Violence.

Something he said resonated with me.  He said there are anti-Islam material made every hour of every day on the internet.  If there were to be riots for every one of them there should be riots on an hourly basis all over the Muslim world.  Then it dawned on me here on i.com, where it's motto is Nothing is Sacred and this slogan has been used to level insults on Islam, we witness wall to wall insults on Islam 24/7!  Just look around and you see the back and forth between few who are either insulting Islam or those who engage them!

Then they showed an interview with a Copt Christian in Cairo.  What's Copt Christian, have you heard about them?  Anyway, he said something that AGAIN it resonated with me.  In his interview he refered to "Muslims who have invaded Egypt"!  Now how many times do we hear the same thing about Iran on this website?!  2 for 2!

So I turn to those who insult Islam routinely on this website and refer to Muslims (directly or indirectly) as savages and Muhammad as a pedophile and so on, dirt on your heads!  NONE of your insults on this website has ever been able to incite anything in Iran!  ALL of the protests in Iran have been because of insults of non-Iranians!

Joking aside, this article sheds light on how these things are started and the global industry of hate from all sides come together to piece together a video who was forgotten to bring it to the attention of a TV personality to incite a reaction that turns violent and use that to recruit more separation and hatred towards one another.  I recommend this article which is short and to the point.

How many of us have actually lived in a society where your religion is your death sentence?  I mean literally and on a large scale.  When we were growing up we knew about Shiites and Sunnis but we never saw any violence against them.  I know now that in Iraq there were atrocities by Saddam against Shiites during his rein, which escalated after the first Gulf war.  But to the extent that it did after the second Gulf war and now as we speak?  Or in African nations such as Rwanda or Sudan.   There is no point in this other than to start a war or genocide using religion.

You are so OTT with this user ID that it is becoming blatently obvious about what you are and your agenda. Take a note of soozan's comment and study your basic training manual again :)

I like your other user ID's though. Much more level headed, with occasional digs at Bahaiis and "zionists" (note, Zionists not Jews!!!) :)

p.s. Sex with a 9 year old girl is almost universally considered to be an act of paedephilia, even if committed by a "masssenger of God"!

Soosan, I am not Bahai

by MaryamJoon on

I am Iranian.  Most Bahais are NOT Iranians, but involve themselves in Iranian issues.  I merely pointed out that a leader of the Bahais made a video (Bahá'í Brainwashing Corporation), that cannot be blamed on "Mullah's," where he ADMITS that HIS OWN FAITH GROUP, works with Israel to spread anti-Iranian propaganda.  Why don't you ask him those questions?  He is still Bahai.

And as I said I am Iranian - so when one of the Bahai leaders (a non Iranian) was convicted in the US of using children sexually to entice people to the faith, as an Iranian I feel an obligation to say that we Iranians should be mindful of our own children and not be blind to foreigners who may exploit our children (Baha’i Child Rape Court Case - Implications for Iran ).

Maryam are you Bahai? Cause sometimes people

by Soosan Khanoom on

Who hate something as much as you do have been betrayed by their own religion scholars. As the result they consider one person's sin as them all ...

All these divisions and fights came into existence after the fall of Ottman Empire and British's divide and rule policy or divide and conquer !!!  Just look at the Wahabism and the Laurence of Arabi crap.  Same with Sheisim and Bahaism crap.  And Sunni by it self was a term given to the Empire by Safavians. Untill then there was no crap such as Sunni as well... Muslims are loosing it big time and are fallen into the dark ages today while sadly it was Islam that gave the world the glorious golden age...

I can't but i.com's supreme leader can.

by Esfand Aashena on

Couple years ago I wrote a blog and asked about people's opinion on "comment control".  That blog was blocked by JJJ from further commenting.  This while he has comment control in his "own blogs". If we can't control comments in our own blogs, much like everywhere else in social media, he shouldn't either in his "own blogs".  Later he promised that he'll give us that option by the end of last year and then he sold the whole thing!

Anyway, I am going to uninvite people from my blogs since I can't control the comments.  They are under no obligation to leave and I am under no obligation to stop uninviting them.

"Bahai Brainwashing" video made by Bahai Leader

by MaryamJoon on

You are wrong. The man speaking on the video is a 40-year veteran of the Bahai faith and leader of a Bahai Assembly.   Bahá'í Brainwashing Corporation

He states clearly that one of the goals of HIS FAITH GROUP  is to spread anti-Iranian propaganda and that the Bahai groups have worked with Israel.

It's a 40-yr Bahai leader in the US ... NOT a "Mullah"

by MaryamJoon on

The man speaking in the video and admitting that the Bahai movement works with Israel and the US government to spread anti-Iranian propaganda is a 40-year veteran of the Bahai faith and a former Bahai Assembly Leader.   He is based in America. He is not a "Mullah."

Before you blame something on the 'Mullahs' ... take time to watch the film. Bahá'í Brainwashing Corporation

BOTH secular and religious governments in Iran, for 160 years, and the PEOPLE of Iran have had national security concerns about the Bahai movement.  The IRI has only been around for little more than 30 years.

AlQaeda like tactics

by Esfand Aashena on

When Bin Laden attacked on 9/11 one of his main objectives was to bring average Muslims into a conflict and make them a target for violence.

Now how come all of a sudden we're hearing about Coptic Christians in Egypt?  I don't know about them but it appears they have been discriminated against even during Mubarak, a US ally.  Now that the Muslim Brotherhood is in charge, become involved in an anti-Islam video to "reduce" the discrimination?

Who is benefiting from this?  Those who are on the sidelines and in no danger.  Those who made and supported the video in the first place to say we told you so and many of them go in disguise to say Muslim world shouldn't respond like this.

As far as Iranians, they have feelings too and IRI will exploit it as much as possible, no surprise there.

Everything is sacred

Threat of war and these types of films are not unrelated

by MaryamJoon on

In the video, for example, the former Bahai leader says Israel uses the Bahai faith as a propaganda tool against Iran: Bahá'í Brainwashing Corporation

Groups posting certain types of content on the internet  and states like Israel making a case for war are not unrelated.  To convince people of the need for war, first you have to vilify your enemy.

hamsade ghadimi

regarding your first point:

by hamsade ghadimi on

regarding your first point: it has now become a sort of science to employ or manipualte people to come out in droves to publicize an organization's political stance.  it used to be: take some hostages, hijack a plane or claim responsibility for a bombing or poisoning.  now, everything has become bigger just like the olympics ceremony or superbowl halftime.  al qaeda's innovation has been in multiple and simultaneous "ceremonies" to make a case for the root of their discontent and ills of society.  with incidents like the one we've witnessed, we also see other countries (which may not have been part of the initial orchestrated demonstrations) join in to deflect attention from their own mismanagement (i.e., iri).

now, which is more important to the iranian people: officials bilking the banks, country going toward isolation, being at threat of war, suffering from sanctions, devaluation of currency, increasing inflation....or a trailer of an anti-islamic movie (that was a huge flop) by an egyptian copt that made it to the internet.  i bet you the iri government would crack down on demonstration for the former issues and bus people for the "hollywood = zionwood" parade.

Good observations

by MaryamJoon on

The people using that type of language are:

(1) Extremist Jews and (2) Bahais connected to the main sect out of Israel: I first noticed the phenomenon in 2007-2009 on other websites and noticed that there was coordination among them. It was clear that there was a lot of money driving it.  I thought to myself that "If I can see these patterns, so can the government of Iran ... these people will never be able to go back to Iran ... EVER."

(* Also include, some MEK or Pahlavi supporters that don't fit into categories 1 or 2).
