گرگم به هوا در بازیهای آسیایی

The other night I was watching the highlights of Guanjou 2010 Asian Games when the English announcer switched to a Kabaddi match between Iran and India. I had not heard of a sport called Kabaddi so with great interest I followed the match. It is basically a bunch of grown men in tight pants and holding hands chasing one man from the opposing team!

Not a pretty sight. They would get more people interested in this sport if they make it coed!

In the case of the Iranian women team they were fully covered and in hejab.

I guess the good news is that both our men and women teams are in semifinals.

Interesting sport

MM, Actually try watching it with a glass of wine and good background music... totally engaging.

I still have a smile on my face from reading gorgam be hava in farsi : )

About 7, asked my dad why gorgam be hava was not a National sport in Iran? After a moment of seriously pondering, he looked at me and replied: There Are many things missing in this country that Your generation would have to pay attention to. Not that My generation has anything to do with Kabbadi but Voila'! :o)
