I had never watched women soccer games, before this tournament. Having watched the women world cup final game today, I believe that women actually can play an enjoyable soccer game, the one that you don’t get bored.I have really impressed with USA and Japanese teams and both teams deserved to be in the final. However, I found the Japanese side, very disciplined and organized with a very smart player, Captain Homera Sawa, number 10. She was almost a team herself, confident, patient, and a leader, one player that any team need in the crucial times.
Really enjoyed the game today and impressed!

Japense won as the cliché of playing for a cause = tsumani!
by Esfand Aashena on Mon Jul 18, 2011 06:39 AM PDTI knew Japan would win because they were fighting for an additional cause. I agree the games were very good and exciting and I enjoyed it a lot.
Everything is sacred

I completely agree with you that the US players were too confident and did not take the Japanese seriously. It worked against them at the end, but I also think that the US team was a very well prepared team for these games to take the championship.Thank you.

by yolanda on Sun Jul 17, 2011 11:51 PM PDTI missed the 45 minutes 'cause I had to leave home, but I watched the rest of the game. It was absolutely dramatic! It was as good as men's World Cup. I admire Japanese players' fighting spirit. They never give up even though they are the under dog!
The hindsight is that American players were a little over confident yesterday....the Swedish coach of American team was singing at the press conference.........US goalie, Hope Solo was talking about her potential commercial endorsements! I had a feeling that they did not take Japanese very seriously! Today Japanese are super tenacious and fearless! That is why they won!
Actually, I do like this type of cardiac game (PK involved) more than the lopsided game!
