Today marks the 11th anniversary of the martyrdom of Afghan freedom fighter, Northern Alliance leader and Sufi master Ahmad Shah Massoud who was made famous during the '80s as the Lion of Panshir. On this day in 2001 (two days shy of 911) Massoud was assassinated by agents of America's Islamist shock-troop mercenary army in Afghanistan: al-Qaeda/al-CIA-duh.

Afghan Women are not to be trusted, but Afghan Warlords including
by Zendanian on Sun Sep 09, 2012 03:19 PM PDTMasoud are legit.
So the story we get from you is that all Afghan warlords aka "Mujahedin" were involved in drug running, violence and slaughter of their enemies except Masoud, who happened to be just a saint.
As far as my Afghan sources, RAWA and March 8th Organization are some of the best sources anyone could find anywhere in the world.
The fact that some (hint, hint, you know who you are) can't listen to women and what liberated women have to say about the reality and history of their country is only an indication of how male chauvinism has corrupted and destroyed their judgments.
So let me get this right: RAWA who was opposed to the Soviet inavasion of Afghansitan, had its leader asssainated by KGB trained Afghan secert police is Stalinist, but people who put RAWA down, dismiss it (because of "aid from NED!") but support Northern Alliance (NATO partner in occupation of Afghanistan) are 'liberated."
As far as charge of Stalinism, you're probably too new to this site , or lack any memory to even suggest that obtuse title for your humble servant, I.
Four Kurdish formations but one monarchist one!!!
by anglophile on Sun Sep 09, 2012 02:37 PM PDTI always thought that Azeri communists were "thick" but glad to see that the Kurdjsh commies are even thicker. They expect us to recognise four different shades pf Kumele but they are so slow and backward that they can't recognise any difference between anything other than their own made up versions of Kumele.
Evidence speaks for itself :))

by Frashogar on Sun Sep 09, 2012 02:34 PM PDTAnglophile said it best where you are concerned. I'll go one better and say that you appear to me to inhabit some kind of nostalgic Stalinist la-la land where blatant historical revisionism, fantasy, whitewash and wishful thinking is the order of the day like it would be under the heyday of your Soviet utopia. I would also suggest you pick up a couple of academic books on the contemporary history of Afghanistan and read them. You appear to have your history and actors completely garbled.
The rise of the Taliban was not facilitated by the Northern Alliance of Ahmad Shah Massoud. It was facilitated by 1) the rampant corruption of the warlords, 2) the fickle, ineffectual and corrupt presidency of Borhanuddin Rabbani, 3) Golboddin Hekmatyar and his Hezb-i-Islami terrorists (financed by Saudi Arabia and initially supported by the USA), 4) the incessant meddling of the Pakistani ISI in the post-Soviet internal politics of Afghanistan, playing one group against another, and 5) Saudi-US dirty money which was being funneled to multiple groups in Afghanistan simultaneously (especially to Osama bin Laden's al-CIA-duh/al-Qaeda). The anarchy, lawlessness and corruption of the warlords which ensued from such conditions in the resulting civil war was instrumental in bringing the Taliban to power because of the power vacuum it created. From 1989 when the Soviets left to the fall of Kabul in 1996 when the Taliban took over, Ahmad Shah Massoud pretty much was sidelined by all parties. The only major role he played was in the weeks just before the fall of Kabul to the Taliban when he attempted to rescue Mohammad Najibullah and his entourage holed up in the UN building in Kabul from certain massacre at the hands of the Taliban - a task at which he failed because Najibullah refused to leave. Please go and read your history.
Sheer Stupidity of Cold War (monarchist) Leeches (Angal)
by Zendanian on Sun Sep 09, 2012 02:21 PM PDTThere are at least four formations in Iranian Kurdestan working under the name of Komola.
But our resident leech is just too stupid to notice the subtle differences. Heck aren't they all Kurds. They all must be the same.
Even more obtuse that their Persian chuavinism is their utter ignorance when it comes to CPI's positions regardign the history of Soviet Union.
"Pro Soviet Komola" isso absurd and stupid, it's truly beneath any comment.
There's simply no limit to monarchists' stupidity. Tis the true bottomless pit.
"Northern Alliance" :the real trash that paved the way for both
by Zendanian on Sun Sep 09, 2012 02:28 PM PDTTaliban and the US.
The so called "Norhtern Allinace" a make over of the old Western sponsered "Mujahedin," paved the way for both Taliban and the US.
They paved the way for Taliban: by being so corrupt, (dealing in drugs to finance their operations), violent and deranged. Afghan people took refuge in Taliban.
"Northern Allinaces" second act was to play the partner for occupation forces of US and NATO.
Our 'beloved' blogger forgets all these "shining" history of unrestrained violence, drug dealing, working hand in gloves with NATO and US.
Afghani women RAWA, and March 8th Organization are "tools" of the West, but actual thugs that the West brought to power, that is "Northern Alliance" are symbols of independence and ethical conduct. What's wrong with this picture?
Why can't defenders of Masoud say a single word about why Afghani people gravitated towards Taliban. Wasn't the only reason for that desperate turn to Taliban, the sheer corruption, violence and drug dealings of these "Mujahedin," including Masoud?

by Frashogar on Sun Sep 09, 2012 12:36 PM PDTAre wannabe-Leftists who are playing at being Leftists but who are in reality nothing more than paid, filthy propagandists for the agendas of the Lobby; yet who true to Stalinist form have no compunction in whitewashing and twisting history in order to perform for the scraps their masters throw their way.
Ahmad Shah Massoud was a Sufi associated with the Qadiri and Naqshbandi orders. He was not an Islamist, nor is there one iota of evidence for the allegations made by the mouthpieces of the Lobby against this great Lion of Panjshir.
So what that he had good relations with Iran? What, was he just supposed to compliantly hand over his country over to the Empire to rape, pillage and make a profit from in order to make the Lobby happy and remember him fondly?
Thanks Zendanian for great comments.
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Sun Sep 09, 2012 11:43 AM PDTOn this trash of the propaganda of a blog.
Masoud was as islamist as brutal as taliban. The reason he is being praised here today is simply because he had a good relationship with the terrorist islamist regime of iran.
Good news from Afghanistan is the way local villagers are arming themselves in their own militias,- Much to Karazi's concern- to fight and beat the islamsit trash of taliban. I have no doubt that final victory belongs to these people's militias.

Don't believe them either...
by Frashogar on Sun Sep 09, 2012 11:00 AM PDTBecause the history books lay the blame for the atrocities which occured after the retreat of the Soviets squarely at the feet of those troops under the commands of Golboddin Hekmatyar and Borhanuddin Rabbani, and not Massoud. Besides the women who were raped turned out to be remnants of the old Communist puppet regime of Najibullah who themselves had committed a fair bit of atrocities for 10 years previously.
Only remnants of the Soviet era are acceptable to Zendanian

They're all criminals, and the only reason Afghani people sought 'refuge' in the arms of Taliban.
Why did Afghani people think Taliban were a more trust worthy force than "Mujahedin?'"
Becuse of people like Masoud and all those other "Mujahedin."
Masoud did his part of mass killing and mass rape: entire neighborhoods.
But for us Iranians, because he spoke Dari and was Tajik and all that, we're willing to go blind on him, forgive all his crimes, and give him a free pass.

RAWA
by Frashogar on Sun Sep 09, 2012 10:00 AM PDTReceives funding from the NED (National Endowment for Democracy). NED was setup by the CIA in the 1980s and has since penetrated its subversive tentacles everywhere. This tells me everything I need to know about the credibility of this allegation levelled by this organization against Ahmad Shah Massoud. The reason they would make this smear is because, to the end, Massoud refused to play by the rules of the American Empire. He remained steadfastly independent to the bitter end and paid with his life because of it. This allegation says more about the malice of the American Empire and its assorted patsies than about Massoud.
KGB said the same about RAWA, so have all "Mujahedin," Taliban
by Zendanian on Sun Sep 09, 2012 10:06 AM PDTAnd basically all male chauvinist douchebags, up to now.
So the query becomes, why would a 'female' looking 'avatar' sound so much all those men in KGB,"Mujahedin," Taliban,...?
Perhaps tis 'female' looking, male sounding avatar itself is fradulent.
Please take notice on how, KGB, "Mujahedin," Taliban,.. have all come and gone, or on their way out. But RAWA is still active and alive.
Only because Masoud was killed by thugs doesn't mean he didn't commit serious crimes.
