What do you think a thirsty chemist would do in order to quench his or her thirst while stranded in a desert? You guessed it; (s)he'd pour some hydrogen in a cup and then would add some oxygen to it, and voila she'd have something that people in cities call water...Now, what do you think a miserable political scientist would do when stranded in a foreign land? Well, (s)he would grab a tiny piece of fashionable Socialism, and would wrap it with a big chunk of marketable Nationalism, and voila....

"We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions."

Let see what the city people would call it...

Capitalism versus Socialism

by jasonrobardas on

Well it is neither this nor that . It is both this and that . I personally believe in a hybrid of the two systems . Study about early 19th century capitaism . How brutal it was here in US . Read John Steinbeck and Upton Sinclair 's novels and you will realize how fierce , mean hearted and cruel the capitalist system can be .

Since then , Capitalism has rationalized itself to a degree ( le capitalism se rationalise) . It has postponed its own demise by adopting some socialistic principles .

It  is definitely the synthesis of the two systems that would be fair and would work best .

In Capitalism you have to work for more profits at any costs .  In Socialism you have no incentive to work.... Period.

The Western Liberal

by Soosan Khanoom on

The Western Liberal Capitalist Ideology :  Live only for happiness and more profit in this world at any cost to others. There is no other world or if there is we can buy it... The western socialist ideology; live for others in this world, have nothing for yourself neither in this world and of course there is no other world.

quotes were the dead give-away, otherwise I would have been stuck with German owned Thames water going 7 times through my system and Blitz-ed pipes being repaired...

I'll try to control myself next time, but I know I can't!  ;)

"Judgemental about what?"

by پندارنیک on

They're judgmental about one's association and circle of friends and not-so friends...... nothing of profound substance...I call it chicky stuff.......which is politically incorrect..........Just forget it....

You already know that I'm not very good at writing back and forth, and we should not go too far from the subject....

Now I wanna borrow another phrase of yours: " Thanks for reading my blog and commenting"...:))

Sorry to call your non-sarcastic remark sarcastic

Regarding your last response, by judgemental, what do you mean? Judgemental about what?

"[ (E)xposure to some chemicals]"

by پندارنیک on

My remark was not sarcastic, I valued your smart response and I used it where it, in my opinion, fitted most properly.........Don't let the judgmental crowd overwhelm you.........My basiji-spy instinct is somehow telling me that you read too many emails and/or Fb stuff...

And the reason for the "somewhere" bit was my hating the self-propagation tactics, and shoving one's blog into the reader's head at every possible opportunity. Otherwise I'd have linked it.

Capitalists/ Socialists

by Maryam Hojjat on

I would rather to live in a CApitalist country with its policy which allows capable, talented, productive people to work hard & excel to their best.  Whether a socialist country  encourages people not to be productive but lazy and free riders.  There is no motivation for working hard in a socialist society.

2nd blog that I try to hold myself from commenting

by Anahid Hojjati on

first was the one that less educated eye sees it as cheesy and what can I say, it looks like I fell into the less educated crowd. Now this one. But Pendar, don't get upset and couple days from now make a sarcastic remark about some witty comment that I made somewhere on IC and this time you would probably put picture of someone who got burned as result of exposure to some chemicals.
