I assume that you would heard about international public outcry about Mehdi Kazemi, 19, and Pegah Emambakhsh, 40, two Iranian homosexuals which their requests for asylum in Britain were denied although they will will face harsh physical punishment, prison, and possible execution if forced to return Iran.

Their partners were sentenced to death by Iranian judiciary system and they fear for their lives. It seems that authorities in Iran had already been to his parents' house with a warrant for his arrest.

While people from different nations support Mehdi's cause and show their symphaty just some Persians or better say pro-Muslim Persians actually condemnd Mehdi and accussed him of lying!

While I was following the news I came across to some Iranian's comment on this issue in different sites but one them took my attention because author commented in a biased manner, without knowledge and specially without care to Mehdi's situation. I don't know personally Mehrnaz Shahabi, I don't know who is she but from her comment I can tell. So please just read mehrnaz SHAHABI's comment in ABC news "Iranian Teen Fears Deportation Means Death" about Mehdi's case and tell me what do you think:

"I am adding the comments I had posted yesterday but somehow you found them "profane" or "personal attack" and "antisocial behaviour". So much for your loud pretense to democracy and free speech! No-one in Iran is executed for being gay. The poor teenager's boyfriend must have been executed for having sex with an underage (that is rape). As for executions, US is certainly not the country to crow in this respect!! In relation to others coming and using your resources when the Americans themselves are deprived and don't even have a decent health service, I agree with you. The best way to avoid that and to build an America you can be proud of that takes care of its citizens, would be to stop the illegal sanctions and threat of war on Iran, would be to withdraw your your men and women from these illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, would be to stop funding domestic unrest and terrorist activities in other countries and not to destroy their resources, their security, their livelihood and economy so that they have to come and seek refuge. Human rights violations and the tightening of democratic space is in direct relationship with the US/Israeli warmongering and domestic interference in Iran and provides pretexts for repression. Put your own house in order by calling your leaders into account for violating human rights in other countries, for subjecting us to daily terror of sanctions and threat of war and coups, we will take care of our own human rights and build our democracy, Don't slaughter our people for our natural resources and destroy our countries and threaten us with your Guantanamo democracy, we would stay in our own countries and invite you as guests (not occupiers!) and treat you with respect and generosity as is our ancient custom. Njjef56, I am an Iranian woman living in Europe and go to Iran regularly. I travel around the country and follow the domestic news and developments. I am concerned about human rights violations in Iran and in the US and elsewhere in the world. And I repeat, no one is executed in Iran simply for being gay. This does not mean that executions of paeophiles or rapists is acceptable from my point of view, but that is the law as executions are applied also in the US. So if you want to put your mouth where your word is, please be consistent and apply the same concern to the human rights abuses and unjust murder of millions by the US. The emphasis on the gay persecution and the human rights abuses in Iran in the absence of care about slaughter of the innocent civilians by the US, its illegal occupations, propping up dictatorial regimes with horrendous human rights abuse records, etc, is sheer hypocrisy if not sad ignorance. I am against the persecution of gays but no more or no less than persecution of the rest of humanity which goes not get a comment in these columns. Are you also concerned about the slaughter and persecution of Palestinians or concerned about the effects of sanctions on the ordinary innocent people in Iran, which includes gays? I hope you are."

Well, Ms. mehrnaz SHAHABI that you are fortunate to travel every year to Iran and live in Europe and support Islamofacisim, I don't care about your view about human rights while you don't care about Mehdi's current situation and instead of writing non-sense without having a little knowledge about Islamic Iran law, just putting mumbo jumbo in ABC.

Ms. Shahabi, get your information straight:

1. An Iranian gay executed in Kermanshah.

2. Mehdi has enough resaon for his fear to go back because even authorities were reach to his parents with court order to arrest him.

3.In Islami courts, Judges in the event absence of law, they can refer to Islamic law and Hadiths to issue sentence. and by Islamic law, sodomy is a deviant act. go figure what would be his punishment.

Mam, I don't think so your comment it's related to Mehdi Kazemi's situation!

Actually your comment is anything but reality about current Iran and human rights problem in Iran so instead of being bias and write GOOOD comments about something that doesn't exist and specially under Mehdi Kazemi's news!!! just all is wrong!

Also your information about gay Iranians is wrong! e.g. "No-one in Iran is executed for being gay"! WRONG, I do have one case in western Iran a guy get executed just because he was gay!

And about "root of persecution of others" I don't see where did you adress this with honesty?!

Homosexual situation and some Iranian's weird response!

by MEHRNAZ SHAHABI (not verified) on

Dear Iranman, thank you for posting my letter in the Iranian.com. Just to make some clarification for readers, the first section was in reply to a comment slagging off those who come and use the resources the Americans themselves are deprived of. The second section is a reply to NJJ56 asking where I was from and where I lived.

I suggest you read the comments again, it seems in your haste and prejudice you misunderstood. Your accusation of my supporting "islamo facsism" shares the same bigotry that is at the root of persecution of 'others'. Try and look up the origins of this word, if you are concerned about the persecution of Mehdi Kazemi you don't belong to that camp.
