Prior to sanctions being passed many argued that the results were not going to be the intended goal. Many argued:
1) Political crack downs will happen
2) Consolidation of political power by the hardliners
3) End of the reform movement
4) More power to the military
5) A complete and utter disaster by Iran achieving a self sufficient nuclear program!
1-4 have come to pass. It seems that #5 becomes more and more a reality each month.
Just in today plates and rods for the plants are now being built inside Iran. On to more of the same.
