Take a look at the bottom of any blog, article or other pages on iranian.com. You will see a blue circle with an eye in the middle and this sentence: "You are not following this post, click to start following."
When you click on that sentence, it will turn green and say: "You are following this post, click to stop following". That means every time there's a new comment on that page, you will immediately get notified by email.
This eliminates the need to keep checking if your favorite blog or... has a new comment.
Also, if you write a blog, for instance, and weeks and months later someone leaves a comment, you will know about it, IF you turn on the Watch service.
We've tested it in the past week and detected no problems. Try it out and give us your feedback.
Thank you Foaad for this great addition to iranian.com!

The answer to my question is you can follow w/out commenting
by Anonymouse on Fri Feb 19, 2010 07:35 AM PSTI think this means you can click and follow a blog you have not commented on, unlike i.com's tracking tools which only follows what you've commented.
However, since I don't want my email inbox to be clogged by blogs I have not commented on, I recommend linking this tool to your i.com tracking and if it gets to be too much, we can go back and unclick the blog we've not commented on.
Everything is sacred.
Actually.....
by Latina on Sat Feb 13, 2010 05:34 AM PSTKS,
JJ, has given us the option to do things as you described or to click to follow a certain blog.
We now have the best of both worlds. Freedom of choice is such a wonderful thing.
Best,
More enaging
by KouroshS on Fri Feb 12, 2010 11:20 AM PSTIt'd be in my opinion more engaging if users kept up with blog's progress or their favorite commenters, on their own rather than relying on an automated service doing it for them...that is the excitement of getting involved and something that motivates one to make a counter comment or add to the discussion.
This is no facebook after all.
Let's preserve our ICulture:))
Bite of bytes
by The Phantom Of The Opera on Thu Feb 11, 2010 10:26 AM PSTI dare say, I am not the only one who follows his favorite commentators rather than being interested in any progress in a favorite blog. So, I wish Foaad could have come up with an appropriate "stalking tool" for some of us.
The Pahlavis, all mullahs, and all public figures associated with the Green Movement must disclose the source and the amount of their wealth/income.
Very useful feature
by Orang Gholikhani on Thu Feb 11, 2010 03:38 AM PSTThank you.
It would be very usefull, we cannot enough time to check if there is a comment.

Thank You JJ, Foad and IC Staff for the Hard Work

TOO LATE JJ, D_DAY HAS APPROACHED
by zanboor_ghavi_mannyslawyer on Wed Feb 10, 2010 11:35 PM PSTthat is it folks,
22 bahman----the date that JJ placed all bets on.........................
will iranian.com survive the lose of credibility or will it emerge as the mouthpirce of the new era. .......
WE WILL KNOW BY FRIDAY/SATURDAY...........................
Expect JJ to make some major decisions on Saturday.....
Will the regime fall and iranian.com become the voice of all iranians?
or will the regime stay, JJ gives up day to day managment to a circle of friends and decides to start a new career as a on the field journalist from hot and dangerous zones?
only time will tell and it ain't that fat away
It sounds like a very nice addition
by Monda on Wed Feb 10, 2010 09:08 PM PSTThank you JJ, Foaad and Kayvan for improving our site.
Wow!
by Latina on Wed Feb 10, 2010 06:53 PM PSTHow cool!
Muchas gracias!
Like Anonymouse, I don't understand ........
by Souri on Wed Feb 10, 2010 04:22 PM PSTI thank you guys for offering this new feather and appreciate your efforts. Just, I think this only reduce the number of the clicks! Isn't it?
People will get lazier and they will only look at their emails to see if they are feeling likely to click on an old blog or not. It doesn't sound so commercial in my head !! But maybe I can't see all the sides of the point ?
Thanks anyway.
Dear yolanda, you crack me up sometimes
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed Feb 10, 2010 04:14 PM PSTI think we writers have to be careful not to become overly conerned with knowing all comments that our readers have. However, not only for blogs that I have written but also for the ones that I like, I am always interested to know each and every comment.
......
by yolanda on Wed Feb 10, 2010 03:52 PM PSTIt seems to me that this feature is for the IC addicts! :O)
My prediction is that in the near future IC can add a feature notifying bloggers the new comments thru I-phone.....
What's the difference between this and tracking option?
by Anonymouse on Wed Feb 10, 2010 03:23 PM PSTWhen I log in I already see the new comments in blogs or articles that I've commented. Why would I want to clog my email Inbox too? Maybe I'm missing something.
Everything is sacred.
There is a serious bug in the IC
by ponderous pontification on Wed Feb 10, 2010 03:21 PM PSTIt seems after a while some accounts tend to be deleted?
I think it has to do with “un-kosher” comments which tend to trigger the delete subsystem overload …
Don’t know but thought you will be interested ..
Great Feature
by David ET on Wed Feb 10, 2010 03:17 PM PSTThanks. It just keeps getting better.
This also helps unnecessary clicks that will reflect slightly better stats of # of readers of each blog. Hopefully soon blogs do not count the same reader again and again.

by bajenaghe naghi on Wed Feb 10, 2010 02:55 PM PSTThanks for this great feature. Iranian.com is getting better and better every day. Thanks to you too JJ jan.
actually,
by admin on Wed Feb 10, 2010 02:50 PM PSTthanks to Kayvan for making it a high priority.
Very nice feature JJ, thanks.
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed Feb 10, 2010 02:21 PM PSTDear JJ, I don't know if IC readers appreciate what nice features we have on this site. On many Iranian sites, you cannot even post in Farsi!!. Also on Iranian.com, there are many cool features and you just added one. I noticed it when I posted my blog an hour ago. I like how it tells the writer about readers' comments even after many months. Again I thanks you and Foad.
God bless you guys
by Princess on Wed Feb 10, 2010 02:59 PM PSTfor this feature! Thank you, thank you, thank you JJ, Foad, Keyvan & the rest of the team!!! :)
